Real World Facts about the Forums
Forum/Sub-forum: Battlefield Series
Intended purpose: This was the pride and glory of BF2S. It started off as facts and chats for BF2 players ever to meet and greet. It has the largest amount of topics, and huge amounts of posts. Used to be the pillar that held up BF2S.
Current purpose: The “new jersey” of BF2S, a barren wasteland. Frequent visitation to any forum other than the BFBC2 forum for some reason renders users un- However, an unlimited wealth of BF2 media, help, and guides can be found in here, as well as pockets of dedicated players.
Forum/Sub-forum: Source Engined Games
Intended purpose: To inspire creative comparisons, get-togethers by fans of the orange box and other famous source engined games, and get people to help each other out with CSS and L4D and the like.
Current purpose: TF2 Update criticism room.
Forum/Sub-forum: Call of Duty Series
Intended purpose: To give fans of the awesome infantry based series a forum of their own.
Current purpose: Thread for bitching about anything to do with COD’s 4-6. Also a great place for pro-cod players to actually get to chat with other cod pros.
Forum/Sub-forum: All other games
Intended purpose: To create a place for news, updates, and official threads about awesome games in general.
Current purpose: The EE of the gaming forums. Lowest point reached when threads were made about flash games.
Forum/Sub-forum: Debate and Serious Talk
Intended purpose: It was, and actually still is, a place to find serious opinions and debates raging.
Current purpose: As well as debates about worldly issues, it is now commonly used by people seeking advice on personal issues too.
Forum/Sub-forum: Everything Else
Intended purpose: When you weren’t gaming or in the gaming forums, you were probably looking here for entertainment.
Current purpose: Although thought by some to be the garbage bag propping up the broken leg on the BF2 table, it is really also a useful place to find tons of entertaining threads. Also contains phenomenally massive numbers of deleted and locked threads.
Forum/Sub-forum: Sports
Intended purpose: A place to occasionally hang out, chat about sporting events, and then post some pics or talk about famous teams.
Current purpose: A place for NL, NBA, NHL, Motorsport, and other sporting league fans to congregate.
Forum/Sub-forum: Tech
Intended purpose: You can’t have the internet without techies. This proved a great place to talk about technology.
Current purpose: Still ongoing, but slowing down. A forum for curious users to pop in now and then, and a thread to go to for tech advice.
Forum/Sub-forum: Music
Intended purpose: A forum created so that people could compare their favorite bands and pieces of song.
Current purpose: Used now and then, but not very active. Mainly a place to go and laugh about the crap you used to listen too (Green day D:<), and then delete your posts to prevent others from remembering.
Forum/Sub-forum: Clans
Intended purpose: Mainly for bf2 clan recruiters and people seeking clans to congregate. The traffic of the BF series forum meant that a large forum would be needed to hold all the requests.
Current purpose: Died with the BF2 forums. Occasionally used, but only for old hardcore members to switch clans or quit clans.
Forum/Sub-forum: Graphics
Intended purpose: A great place to put creative pictures and GIF.’s, and an awesome place to get custom sigs.
Current purpose: Sig requests and for laughing about the crappy quality of fellow members cameras.
Forum/Sub-forum: News
Intended purpose: Want to know how the sites faring? Come here, stay a while,
Current purpose: Arguing about the FaceBook like feature.
Forum/Sub-forum: Feature Requests
Intended purpose: Didn’t like something about the site? Want something? You requested it here.
Current purpose: A place for users to put requests which are promptly ignored, deleted, or trolled. If you want a new feature, the best way to do it is to hack into Chuy’s account.

Intended purpose: The problem solving thread.
Current purpose: Problem solving has turned in to trouble shooting. In other words, if you have trouble, your plea for help will be shot down and you will probably only get a response if a nice mod or admin stops by.
Forum/Sub-forum: BF2S Servers
Intended purpose: Talk about the awesome BF2S servers based around the world!
Current purpose: The residence of a bunch of Australians saying nice things to each other about life, bf2s, and beer.
Forum/Sub-forum: Etcetera
Intended purpose: A place you could post useless stuff about the site and get away with it.
Current purpose: A place to reminisce about the gold old bf2s and farm karma by posting really good numbers in order to bait members into karma-ing you which ruins your cool karma numbers but gets you easy duty-free karma.

Intended purpose: Wiki chatting.
Current purpose: Pretty much dead, although frequent attempts are made to revive it.

Intended purpose: Where mods can go talk, reminisce, and where thy probably have a “ban of the week” thread somewhere.
Current purpose: Unknown.
