Alright so I returned my preivous 5870 since it was locking up and crashing in some of my games and i'm going to get another one. The question is whether i should get one with 2gb ram or 1gb ram. I am using eyefinity with a resolution of 6048x1200 with bezel correction.

I don't understand. Surely the 2gb would pull more fps, not less than the 1gb?
Doesnt having 2gb take up room in addreses that could be used for other stuff, RAM and such?

That's just an artificial limitation created by MS for W7. Server 2008 can use 2TB in some editions. Linux should be able to use all of the 2^48

On the topic of graphics cards, surely the larger memory one would be better for a huge resolution like that, unless clock speeds etc are noticably shite.
