It doesn't taste good, and it's never a good idea to inhale the fumes from burning fuel.
Just buy Bics if you're going to smoke shit out of a pipe. Unless you lose a Bic it will last over a month, and they cost like $0.60 if you buy a pack of 5.
The only reason Zippos still exist is the "cool factor", if you can even call it that.
Zippo can last a long while witout the need to change flint/whick.
For the fuel...i refil mine once every 2 week...and it take like 10 second to do, no big deal.
Also, the zippo is wayyyy more safe to have in a work environement than a Bic is. It wont burst into flame if you weld and it get hit by burning things, also my friend father got his nuts saved by a zippo...
You either love it or hate it.
I want to hear that story with your friend's dad.Roger Lesboules wrote:

I've got a zippo, got it for Xmas from my gf and I think it's great. Never had any problems with it.

My friend father is a welder....was once using a zip-cut...the thing kicked toward him, hit the zippo in his pocket....zippo took the hit instead of the nut sack.Trotskygrad wrote:

I prefer zippo than bic. Just so much better IMO.
Course I haven't had a cig since September '08 and that's not likely to change.

Clippers FTW.

Cheap, decent quality, replaceable flints and refillable.
Although I agree that Zippos are crap and make stuff taste funny.

Zippos only really work for cigars (although I don't recommend any kind of lighter but jet lighters for cigars, stick to matches) and setting things besides a smoke on fire.

You can't taste fucking Zippo fuel what are you on about. You light it and it lights, fire is fire, not zippo fire.

Try smoking something that takes a bit more inhaling action than a smoke/cigar/reefer, you'll definitely taste it.jord wrote:

meth?
I was thinking more apperatus, not substance.
Possibly, this is just a simple question but it may be the resulting dumbassery from last night however.
surely once something is lit and the zippo goes out, that fire is the same as any other fire, whats burning is just burning, same if it was any lighter, i mean maybe u can sorta taste it in the first second but after that nahhhh

Yeah, but if you're smoking an apperatus that requires the flame for more than a second (ie. *cough*bong*cough*) then you get the flavour, and quite strongly too.
