Selling tower - buying laptop

Well my days of PC gaming are slowly coming to an end. For many reasons which don't need to be mentioned. Anyway, I've gone through dozens of great games and spent over 2000 hours gaming.

So I basically wasted around 80 days of my life. Well anyway, I'm moving and it'll be annoying brining all my stuff with me. I'd also like to stop gaming.

In the "Tech open discussion" you can see the PC I'm trying to sell for a little over 1k. I'm trying to buy this:

I've always wanted a Vaio, it's my little dream. So don't try and get me to buy something else. For a Vaio though, what do you think of it?

I need a media / work / internet laptop. Something I can work easily with Microsoft Office '07, photoshop, watch movies, browse the web, etc. I won't be using it for gaming.

Can I get a better opinion than that? Like is there another Vaio that's better and cheaper? I want a black one.

I don't really mind a different brand but something good like ASUS or HP. I think those are good, I'm more into desktops so I'm a bit new with laptops. I'm worried about their construction (Durability) and the hinges and things.

I have that exact laptop... (Mine is the euro model though, i5-430 instead of an i3)

I have nothing negative to say other than the lid scrathes abit easy,,

Mine does a BSOD once in a while, currently troubleshooting it but difficult since it's random...

Pretty sure it's a bug and not a model since I pre-ordered this baby alongside a buddy of mine, his hasn't BSOD'd ever...

I also was looking for a new laptop recently, and the vaio-e series was one I was taking a closer look at. I thought it was strange to get a sony with that kind of hardware for that price, so I read some reviews (they were all in German so I won't bother posting links). They say that for a sony the quality is quite bad. Feels a little cheap, the screen is bendable and all that. In other words, for the same price you can get either a laptop from another brand with better hardware but of the same quality or another sony with worse hardware but better quality.

When I discovered the VAIO I have (E-series i5) I was amazed at the value, dells and everything else at the same spec is more expensive than this...
