I thought I would take the time to write a little topic about the Spec Ops class after an amazing experience last night. So me and some clan mates were playing on our own ranked server, and my mentor for the clan and I were playing MEC on Mashtuur. He spawned as an engineer(don't know why) and I a Spec Ops. I was squad leader and noticed that we had captured the US base with all of their assets. When we reached the hill, we noticed that even though tons of people were spawning there nobody even though twice about destroying the artillery or UAV there! Thusly we planted C4 and stayed there the whole time to make sure that they could use any of it again. The point of this thread is not to say how me and my friend are amazing(i mean you COULD say that;))...but to make a point. After destroying the assests, we effectively put the commander out of action. He was useless, unable to point out troop movement on my team, or drop artillery, anything. This rendered his team to be fighting blind, not knowing where most of our men were, and having to do the job of killing us off, rather than calling in an arty strike and mopping up the leftovers. This really made me think, that if you had just one squad of 4 people, how quickly you could almost keep the entire enemy team half as effective, and save your team soooo many tickets at the same team. Say you had one Spec Ops to blow up the assets, then had Support since you would need a little more C4 for other operations and to finish off the assets. You could use a medic if a guy got sniped or you got into combat, and assault to just help you get there. If those 4 guys just chilled there and kept people away, the rest of you team could go after flags, not deal with the 10 clumped guys getting nailed with arty, right before capping a flag, only to lose it again along with 10 tickets. Now multiply that 10 by however many times you think you get rocked by arty. Yea, that many more lives, thats enough to allow you a few careless deaths, or a few accidental TK's. Just figured I would share this newfound knowledge to see if I could help people win a few more games.
damn right:)
To sum it up, C4 can blow stuff up, and who doesnt like that?
"Newfound knowledge" =destroy the assets. Yeah, wow I hadn't thought of that one before, spaz attack.
that's pretty awesome. Spec ops behind enemy lines with a few buddys is extremely fun.....+1
lol hey man you would be surprised how many people will sit there oblivious and not do anything, and then get nailed with arty and comaplin about it.Delphy wrote:

Nice post and everything, but did you say mentor?
Yea, each new recruit is assinged a mentor, because they teach us how to be a beast, formations, how to own, you know how it goes.
nice, +1
No, not really, self taught. But I hope you have fun and don't shoot me or I will add you to my list. j/kLeebster wrote:

That is true, but rare most of the time. I find it very hard to find a squad more interested in winning the game, than getting kills.
they teach you how to be a beast? do you get to choose, like a lion or wolf or something?....
Sounds like the Branch Davidian.Barney_T_Dinosaur wrote:

Well to be exact, I have been trained to be a level 5 Liger thank you very much!
Here was my favorite thing to do . I forgot the levels name but it the one with US vs China , US has a carrier and the Chineese has oil feild or reactor in the middle and an airbase way in the back hehind the mountains .
This is for when I'm on US side and I play Spec ops . I get a small buggy and avaiod all action and head strait for their base . I go for the uav and Radar first , I blow that up and head west to the big depression in the far , in line with the airstrip . When I get there I call in sullpy drop . I rearm and head over to the artillery now that I can'r be uav'ed and scaned and blow that up . More then likely there is an Engineer repairing the UAV and radar . I don't bother him at all . I just let him do his thing . After placing bombs on the artillery I head back to the sup crate . THEN I blow up the bombs and rearm . This way the engineer is like WTF , I spend time reloading and by the time I do he makes he way over to the artillery to fix it . That when I use the cover of buildings and trees and head on back over to the UAV and radar . I place bombs on it and head back to the sup crate . Repete and wash hands . I did this for a living and after a while I had fool proof routs and knew every nook and cranny in the terrain . I could keep assets down for like 5 cycles . Anoyying the hell out of my enemy . Much fun .

I've run with a pack of 4 from time to time, and have experienced the same situations. It absolutely cripples the enemy. Normally, we go 1 spec opps, 1 support, I medic and one sniper. Sniper takes M95 to survey incomming enemy troops, plus it's handy in getting them to stop if they are in a HUMVEE or Vlod.
Congrats, you helped someone get expert repairjonnykill wrote:

Using a sniper isnt a bad idea come to think of it. You could use stealth much better because the rest of the squad could hide while the sniper lets them know how many enemies, kit, and where. It would give you the element of surprise. Plus you could put claymores on the arty to the first attempt to repair them would not work.
hi love your topic, its just gay though when people dont follow orders if you are a squad leader.
Great thread.. but...
Why waste a whole squad when just 2 peeps could do the same job.. and besides you would probly get banned cause the jackass commander is the admin"Fk1ngH4X" bann!!!!!!!

Yea getting banned aint pretty, but then again do you really want to play on a server with people who can't be good sports when they take a good lickin'?
I dont but still they would proly ban you for spawn camping..... otherwise it would rule though
Blowing up shit is fun!
As a pro spec ops myself i must agree with you. on many maps once we have taken there main with assets i sometimes will stay and defend. Waiting for there com to drop a supply crate to fix get my c4 back and continue blowing up there assets.. it sucks when im at there main taking care of business by myself only to get some enemy's to nutralize the flag while im in the middle destroying assets.. It would be great if i had some help defending but no one really likes defending not enough points in it.
Yay that is so fucking fun. I don't see the fun in sticking around in someone's base blowing up assets, half the time I can work with 1 arty battery, UAV and no scan since I random spot when i'm commander (spam spot on flags).jonnykill wrote:
