My sister's friends entered themselves in the 48 Hour Film Festival. The name is self explanatory, you get a genre and a bunch of restrictions and 48 hours to create a short film 4-7 minutes in length.
The genre for this one was Femme Fatal.
The restrictions were:
- Use a broken toy.
- Have a character called Sydney manson who is a Fabricator.
- Use the line "When you look at it that way..."
- Use a dolly zoom.
- There's probably another one which I forgot.
So yeah, they did this. Because they were short of people I got called to play a role - the fabricator, Sydney Manson. Thing was none of them knew just what a fabricator was so instead they slicked my hair down, gave me dorky glasses and made me a fabric salesman. Whatever. All I had to do was die anyway.
In the final cut and due to some technical... clulessnes changes needed to be made. The main character became Sydney Manson and I was demoted to "Donnie Dumpster", (as my corpse is found in a dumpster.)
Anyway, the film's not good, - that's a bit unfair, for what it is it's pretty good but "what it is" is a rushed film by amateurs... actually that's again unfair, Kali is a pretty accomplished actress... Avi is a pretty accomplished stage actor too... and Stephen, (cameraman/director/guy killed by vase,) is pretty keen on his filming and definitely has a good idea... okay a film of amateurs in the use of film equipment and software 'cause that's where the major problems were.
But this brings me to the point of this post - if it gets a lot of YouTube views we all get iPhones. Not that I even WANT an iPhone but the nine others involved in this do and I though I may be able to use my bf2s contacts to give us a head start.
So if you can spare the time, this is the film, "Lady in Disguise". Just watch enough of it so it counts as a YouTube view.
And yeah, the music is annoying as Hell, my sister wrote it in ten minutes and couldn't work out how to make the loop be less obvious.
Oh, and if you're looking for my part I'm between 2:54 and 3:42. My sister, (the lighting techinician,) didn't light me up very well... also her foot can be seen at he top of the screen at 3:49... sigh.
