Or those with a proxy. Program called Erasing David, on 4OD. About trying to get away from some PI's, and all the databases and everything that you're listed on. It's a documentary, and it's very interesting. Link for those that are interested.

i saw this a few weeks ago . . .

interesting topic, but overcooked to fuck. it's about as factual as a bear grylls episode. scripted, set-up, bullshit.

typical channel 4 media propaganda: they hop on one bandwagon of public discontent and whore it out to the point of absurdity

BIG BROTHER BIG BROTHER BIG BROTHER

that said, it was entertaining. but taken with a small ocean's worth of salt

No I know. As well as that, he's fucking retarded. Anyone who's watched a Bourne movie could evade those guys, but he makes it easy for them by visiting their websites and leaving his trash everywhere.

he isn't dumb . . . it's clearly written to be that way

come on, the ending was such an obvious set-up.

i felt insulted by the 'genuine' warning the film was trying to convey - it was ridiculous.

as i said though . . . an interesting topic. lots of data and information IS routinely kept on us, with a real blithe and scarily casual attitude towards its treatment. even when it comes to things like employment prospects, employers can harness so much information about candidates from cursory google-searches: facebooks, myspaces, twitters, hell even websites they're dumb enough to enter their real names on. you can profile a person too easily by their paper-trail. that's a frightening form of discrimination.

Yeah sorry, I meant to say that but didn't, he purposely left bank statements in the trash with his schedule and played their email games and whatnot, as well as visiting places they could know about, in order to give them a chance and make it seem much scarier.

I don't know about the ending being obvious, to get details for an appointment wouldn't be hard so to hang around in the waiting room wouldn't be too difficult.

But I agree this whole data thing has got me thinking.

don't think about it too much; the only people really bothered enough to attain that information are those investigative-types

chances are zero to one. people and companies are too apathetic.

I was thinking more in terms of employers and stuff on the internet, but it's easy enough to hide your Facebook profile and there are enough Matt Gray's on the internet to make anything else I do impossible to track back to me.
