Any ideas on why this is happening, and how to fix?

herp derp,

Just noticed my ratio was 2:12,

Cant find where to change it in the bios, just set the frequency of the dram to auto, and it seems to be all sweet now.

I had a similar issue in another thread, but for me I was told it was due to the onboard GPU taking 0.5GB from a 2GB stick.

How would I change the frequency of the dram to auto?

if you havnt OC'd it, it should already be on auto.

If not, hit up the bios on ya machine, normally you hit  DEL on boot.

Oh ok, it's not OC'd and it's a new mobo/RAM/CPU combo so I'd assume it's still at auto.

Nah just kidding. Try swapping the sticks in the slots of the mobo.

I'd recommend changing the DRAM frequency to the specified frequency of your ram (or as close as you can get). If you set it to auto it may be running slower than it should.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Thought i'd repost with updates.

The ram seems to be faulty on a cold boot, that is, when the computer has been of for +7 hours, it will only register 4GB. On a shutdown, then turn on again basis, it will then find the 6GB ram.

I've read a shit tonne of posts and methods on how to fix it, cause well, it's been happening to literally hundreds of people..

Wrote to G.Skill and they concluded that they have infact changed the chip since my batch was released.

TLDR, i have to RMA to taiwan, and i'll get a replacement pack.
