It certainly sounded like there were a lot of Westerners on it, at least according to posts made by anti-Israeli members earlier in the thread.
what difference does it make anyway?

Wow obviously I've missed 10 pages of discussion... sorry about the backtrack... but honestly how ridiculous must you feel right now... What exactly are you trying to justify here? The Israelis are running an illegal blockade on the Gaza strip and when activists from Turkey, Greece and other neutral countries try to bring in supplies for the 2 million people who are made to suffer, they get boarded while still in international waters by IDF commandos, they get shot at because they were supposedly armed with cuttlery and then they are illegally held in Israel.M.O.A.B wrote:
Anything and everything linked with Israel is always termed as them being the aggressor, even in the instances when they are attacked first, and rightfully utilise self-defence. Then these events are used to incite violence by the usual Jews r evil crowd. It may have shit on its sheets, but its not the only party doing bad things out there - something you might not know from a lot of media reports.oug wrote:
What exactly does happen? Correct me if I'm wrong but in all these years I don't think Israel's plans for the region and the conflict have ever been compromised in any way. Israel always did what it wanted despite what might be voiced by other nations. In fact, lol, forget its enemies! Not even the US - it's closest ally - has ever been able to impose its will in the rare occasions when the two disagreed on anything.M.O.A.B wrote:
Think about it. If Israel kills people, what happens on the international stage? Particularly in Arabic countries.
A professional photographer for the AP once doctored photographs to make it look like Israeli jets and bombings were far worse than they were, in order to stir up comdemnation.
And as for the AP guy, please. Don't even get me started on how the israeli side controls practically the entire flow of information from the western media.
Yes actually you're in luck. Recently Vanunu was imprisoned yet again for 3 months and it made the news. What didn't make the news AGAIN was the double standards with which the international community is handling the issue of nuclear weapons of Iran and Israel.M.O.A.B wrote:

they aren't searching the convoy dude, they're enforcing the blockade.ghettoperson wrote:
Because they're douchebags. I don't have a problem with them searching convoys for weapons, because obviously if they don't have weapons they can't fight each other. But there's no reason to starve the people.
I suggest you go and read a little closer, because I haven't said anywhere that Israel is in the right, just like the flotilla. What I have pointed out are the bits you can't seem to comprehend. First off, many of those involved in the flotilla were armed with knives, hammers, clubs and prepared to attack and brutally, hardly a peaceful selection; second, the food and medical aid was going to be passed on anyway but that was turned down; third, the commandos were carrying paintball guns with real weapons as a backup. The second they hit the deck they were being clubbed, and I sincerely doubt those doing the clubbing would have stopped before they killed them. If someone was beating me with a metal pole with an apparent intent to kill and I had a gun, I'd use it.oug wrote:

Yep. We blockaded Haiti about twenty years ago and no one said 'Boo'.Macbeth wrote:
I have been reading on other forums slight chatter about how the U.N. Charter allows them to board the ship in international waters if they think its carrying weapons or supplies into a blockaded area. I have to look it up later.
Did you mention Haiti? http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/01/17-6 See if we can get someone to say "Boo".JohnG@lt wrote:

and their certainly wouldn't have been an international investigation into the incident like how they did with the north korean attack (US/UK/Sweden and some other country) so they probably would have got away with iteleven bravo wrote:

Heh, I wonder if "Jewish Lobby" had anything to do with that decision.Mekstizzle wrote:
Hahaha... US blocks call for international investigation, and then says that Israel should lead any investigation.
