If it doesn't bother you re: any cosmetic wear then I can't see a problem, BUT you'd best off asking one of the techs on here though as some of them repair monitors for a job, so they'll be the experts on exactly what's replaced and what to be wary of.
I was talking to my friend about a TV tuner card in my PC instead perhaps, what do ya'll think about that? Worth the effort, easy to record stuff?
edit: Perhaps this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6815100035 and a regular old monitor?

I know nothing about tv tuners in a PC but I'd imagine you could easily record programs, and it would be significantly cheaper and take up less room than two monitors.
I used to have one, it was decent, but if you want a good one, be ready to fork out the money, $100+. I spent $50 on mine and it was able to record whatever I was watching, but at a small crappy resolution. It also didn't work on 64-bit OSes so I only used it for a year or two.
This one says 1080i and seems to be work on 64bit win 7..
@Jaek: I'm going to run 2 monitors regardless.

That'd be a pretty sweet card then. See if there's some sort of scheduling software you can run, like a DVR. Does it come with a remote as well? (probably).
doesn't look like itmtb0minime wrote:

dunno tbh
I'd prefer PCIE rather than USB.Bevo wrote:

I don't think I want to spend that much. I don't watch much TV, I just want to watch the game occasionally while playing a game or something. Which if it requires system resources probably isn't a great idea.alexb wrote:

I'll probably go just straight into the monitor/TV.
What do you think out of the top two I linked, Alex?
In my opinion, the Samsung P2370HD; it has a higher contrast ratio.Bevo wrote:

ordering that in about 30 minutes unless anyone has any objections
i obj . . . j / k, looks good.
It has a higher dynamic contrast ratio which means absolutely nothing given that both are high. Actual contrast ratios, which are what matter, are the same.alexb wrote:

Regardless, go with the P2370HD for the fact that you get native Full HD resolution.

There is a difference between the two, but the static contrast ratio is more important.Winston_Churchill wrote:

I'll let you know how it looks matty.
I haven't read the thread, so if you haven't decided:
Take my advice and buy a wall-mounted TV. I'm willing to bet that you can easily find space for one of those, and then you can bypass all the problems associated with getting a computer monitor to work with legacy AV inputs.

Probably should have read the thread (or the OP)unnamednewbie13 wrote:

I need a second monitor regardless. I have 3 screens currently sitting on my desk (2 monitors, laptop), a 4th above them is not only ridiculous, but not cost efficient.
i want 3 monitors..

everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously. ♥
I agree too. Not a great difference between that and the 2333HD but if you've got the money I'd go with the P2370HD, simply for the extra features and in 6 months time you'll think back on it and be happy you got the best you could afford.alexb wrote:
