Brand new Razer Carcharias, bought because for whatever reason my mic on the old set didn't work. Well guess what, same problem here. No drivers for this set, but even with every possible audio channel I know of being full open, nothing. Test with windows, nothing. Test it in all my games, nothing. Try all 3 mic ports, nothing. This is a brand new 2000$ value Gateway (got for half that), there should be nothing wrong with the ports themselves.

It was a floor model and I knew a guy, but they checked it out and every port was fine, it recognizes that I have a mic plugged in and should I blow into the fucking thing it will make noise, but speech is FUBAR, not one single notice.

I did that yesterday after I got them, nothing worked, and just now...

Magically, I did jack fucking shit to fix it, and suddenly it works.

No really, I did absolutely nothing aside from plugging it back in for the hundredth time, just worked.

Headphones needed no drivers Aussie.

I hate my life, I just do right now.

Afaik, the Razer Carcharias has 3.5mm connections, so he has a sound card, or an integrated one, which will both require drivers.

n00b, can you post your system specs?

Back in February. The old man got the exact same deal with an identical HP minus 4 gigs of Ram and 4 USB slots.

Have you tried reinstalling the latest drivers? I'm going to guess it has a Realtek Chip in it.
