That was some absurd shit, I can't see anything that was wrong with the goal.

He's the Jim Joyce of the World Cup.
Actually no, Jim Joyce is actually a good ump who made a shitty call. This guy just fucking sucks.

I remember that. That was the most obvious in a litany of horrid errors and missed calls.Kez wrote:

It's also really bullshit that they can't retroactively award the obvious goal. Fuck FIFA and their anachronistic rules.
Don't like the rules, don't watch the game. It was a horrible call but that's the way it goes sometimes.nukchebi0 wrote:

Holy fuck that refereeing was beyond atrocious.
Seriously, that performance and the travesty of inconsistency that was the ref in the Germany-Serbia match has basically convinced me the validity of soccer results lies somewhere between WWE and NBA. Kind of pathetic, really, the lack of replay, oversight, appeal, or anything else resembling modern advances in officiating accuracy.
I think it is a bit fucking stupid the head of FIFA or whatever it was just out right refuses to use replays to help with decisions like that.
Also, I'm fucking BUZZING for the england game now!

There should be replay for whistled goals and red cards. It doesn't take more than 5 seconds with todays technology and saves time, nerves and referees from public lynching.KingCheese wrote:

Though, that's just my opinion.
There are... 4th officials can view a replay, but not rewind it again. Not sure if thats in the World Cup too but i remember reading that somewhere.BLdw wrote:

I'm not in favor of replays and the like. I've been on the shitty end of decisions over the years, but I like the way it adds to the agony of being a football fan. I.E when you lose, it's nice to have something to bitch about

blademaster is serbian, he'll do any job against any of those traitors who split from the glorious yugoslavia

Well, I guess it's slightly different for us then because I'm not a fan of any team. I just want see some good football and it's annoying to see it getting spoiled because bad choices from referee.KingCheese wrote:

For instance, I'd like to see U.S still go on because they seem to be playing football instead of trying to make the best Bollywood film of all time (acting/diving). That cannot be said for every team these days. But it gets old if these teams fall short because some referee makes shitty calls.
edit:
I know, they check it right away and we'll see it couple second later from TV (at least that's what I've heard/read).SERVENT wrote:

Like I said before, most of us have been on the wrong end of a bad decision and it is infuriating. Having said that I think replays for this that and the other would turn the game of football from a free flowing game into a stop start affair. You'd end up having to have replays for everything and I for one would find that terribly annoying. I'll live with the occasional injustice no matter how painful.

US are gonna have a tough game against algeria, those a-rabs ain't gonna want to lose to a bunch of yanks... then again, likewise/vice versa for the yanks
but shit, we'll see if england can beat algeria first... should be ok. I'm going for 3-0

As was said before, welcome to football. I like it the way it is and millions of others worldwide do too. Having said that I still feel for the USA.RTHKI wrote:

it wouldnt be that hard to have replay for just questionable goals, or like the US case a goal that should have been

There's been discussion for replays to check red cards and whistled goals. It wouldn't take time any more than it takes now. Now, when a player gets red card it halts the game for at least one minute, every bloody single time. When goal is whistled it halts the game too, just like red card.KingCheese wrote:

With replay this everything could be over in few seconds and without all the heat and whining and crying.
I guess it comes down to me liking it the way it is. You take the rough with the smooth. There is a fallability in referees and I just accept that. I know how all the USA fans feel now - terrible. I've been there but I still wouldn't change it. I enjoy that part of the game - it adds to the drama.BLdw wrote:

I go check referee trainings when I want to see referees playing, maybe I can find some drama from there
