Very rare alcohol is served to minors here. Places can lose their license as well as serve jail time. If the police suspects a place is serving minors, they will actually have a minor go in for a sting operation......snitches get stitches

The age limit here is 18 but drinking when younger than that rarely results in anything. If the cops catch a group of minors drinking they seize the alcohol and tell the kids to go home or take them home if they are too intoxicated / to the station if they don't cooperate.

Buying alcohol to minors is obviously illegal but they don't really investigate who bought the stuff unless the minor has committed a crime while drunk. Besides it's not exactly hard for minors to buy their own beer if they have a bit of teen stache.

Also minor drinking is legal in closed environments under parent observation

Who tries to go into an establishment and get booze when underage? Most people find older friends or even parents to buy their shit unless they have a fake ID, which seems to be a bit more common in college towns.
