The rest of the world doesn't really want to hear "After further review.." every five minutes. The absence of all of these boring elements is part of what makes football interesting. Red cards can be reversed by a governing body, and in extreme cases, matches can be declared void and rescheduled. That's all the "oversight and appeal" that's needed.
ya fuck getting it correct.  who wants the correct call.  pffftt..... i want to watch human error ruin the efforts of the players.
I know this might be news to people who don't follow the sport, but replays have never been used, and this managed to become the most popular sport in the world without them. When the debate (frequently) arises, the vast majority of players fans prefer it to stay just the way it is. So yes, "fuck" getting every little detail right one hundred percent of the time. Most people prefer the element of chance.
this may be news to you but i follow the sport kthx.

and its the most popular cuz you can be poor and play it.  all you need is a ball.  look at africa.

and your arguments were the same the baseball crybabies had when they implemented instant replay for homeruns.  has worked out just fine for the most part.

i dont think anyone here is saying every little detail, but goals in a world cup are not a little detail.  but, you do not want to phrase it that way because it kills your argument tbh.

So the rest of the world is 20 years behind on athletics modernization? That's a nice thing for a US jingoist to know.

I know they've never been used, and I know it became popular regardless. I also know its moronic to accept obviously wrong outcomes when you easily have the capability to rectify such errors. The fact it become popular regardless of officiating innovations is a poor justification for not implementing them when the cost in time and money would be insignificant compared to the increased validity in the results on the field. You seem to think that a game-winning goal is only a "little detail", which seems rather laughable considering how much soccer players celebrate scoring a goal and more importantly, the impact it has on the US chances to qualify for the later rounds. The lack of accountability and oversight is absolutely pathetic for such an authoritative organization, and if the US fails to advance, I'll have a hard time taking anything sponsored by FIFA seriously until they reassess their archaic rulebook.
Heh, I think the world of Association Football can do without you, nukchebi0. I get what you're saying. I understood when you said precisely the same thing in your previous post. What you need to understand is that the sport is the way that it is because it is the way that the players and the fans want it to be. Name calling doesn't change that. If you don't like it, that's fine, but getting your panties in a twist and posting about it in this thread does no good.
Lol, I didn't repeat precisely what I said. Please read the two posts again to notice the differences, especially with the "every little detail" comment.

And really, do you think the US players and fans want the pathetic refereeing system currently used after they were robbed of nearly guaranteed advancement by an atrocious and easily correctable call by the referee?

All this whining and bitching about how "good" teams aren't doing as well as expected...

Know the solution?

Support New Zealand! The team that no-one expects to do anything! The team most people said were at the World Cup just to make up numbers! The pre-emptive wooden spoon recipients!

Seriously it's great. Any result they get fails to disappoint. You saw the way we treated a draw against a team ranked 34th, (I think.) Think of the reaction if we even score a goal against Italy. I'm telling you, no downers if you're an All Whites fan.
Please please score a goal against those pathetic dive-happy faggots.

Or is it something to do with Scotland wanting to be independent and shit?
It's exactly this. They;re more than happy enough to rag on england for anything that we do, because they want to be independant, yet still insist it's right they should vote on English policies, and us not be allowed to vote on theres, and also let ENGLISH tax payers pay for there benefits and pensions, but na fuck it, when it comes to football or anything competitive, we're cunts.
It's nothing to do with that. I'm Scottish, so I support Scotland, not England.

Also we pay taxes. How do you think we feel about our taxes going to pay for immigrants that come over here and sit on their arses?

Another thing, Andy Murray is Scottish, yet the English feel like they need to claim him as their own for some reason, because he's good. He's British if he wins, he's Scottish if he loses.

Actually I lied. WHY THE FUCK do we still sing "God Save Our Gracious Queen". Last time I checked, that was the United Kingdoms national anthem. When was the last time the scots or the welsh sang it? That song should get the fuck on, and we have another one, cause the United Kingdom is bullshit. England all the way.

Now my rant is over.
Yes, why do you sing that? Out national anthem is Flower of Scotland. What's the official England anthem?

So, new technology shouldn't be used because football has managed to become the most popular sport without them anyway? Why change anything at all?

Can you (or anyone else here) list any good reasons why there should not be instant replays? We get to see a replay 5 seconds later in TV and it is already seen by few guys before that. What is with people not wanting this communication link between referees during the gameplay? Naturally instant replays should be used only for game breaking choices such as red cards and whistled goals. Instant replay wouldn't remove the "humanity" of football either, referees could whistle and give yellow cards just as often as now, but couldn't "break" the game with some utterly pointless red card/whistled goal.

...Or do some of us just like to have something to bitch about?

edit:
11 Bravo brings a good point actually, instant replays are used in other sports too and it doesn't seem to slow down or make them any more "in-humane" sports than they are now.

Murray wins Wimbledon this year; headlines will read: 'First British Tennis Player Wins Wimbledon For First Time In XXX Years'

nothing like that if he loses.

English Media are fucking shocking.

When Caragher stuck his arm across the face/neck of the Algerian striker and conceded a free kick and yellow card, Mark Lawrenson said 'There was no way he could get out the way of that'. Absolute fucking bullshit. English media trying to justify things again. I fucking hate Lawrenson, he's a fucking cunt

Just to add, I bash the Scots with no venom, it's just part of the banter.  I mean no offence.

The few I've spoken to take it a little more seriously for some reason lol, I can't really see any sense behind it but whatever floats your boat. It's papers like the Sun who suck dick and the odd commentator, no need for the Scottish to support whoever England are playing for those reasons.

It's a shame that people seem to have forgotten just how good Gazza was.  You can wank over Messi and Ronaldo all day, and with good reason but Gazza had all the talent in the world too.
