Anyone just see that on Sky Sports News about the England squad? Apparently in training today David James had 400 shots fired at him and didn't concede a single goal. But tomorrow, he and Emile Heskey will train with the rest of the squad. LoL

I've got to say, now that I think about it, I'm fucking pissed off with that ref for the Italy NZ game. Just some really really bad calls. Ignoring the fact that he fell for a pathetic display of theatrics leading to a goal for Italy, the man just kept making dumb calls after dumb calls. Ignoring Ryan Nelsen getting taken down from behind by Gilardino, ignoring Winston Reid getting throttled by Chiellini - I mean not even a pause in play there, the game kept going with one NZ defender down.

Then yellow carding Nelsen for not wanting to leave the field on a stretcher? What the fuck kind of call was that?

I'll admit that the All Whites play a physical game - at times perhaps too physical. They're big dudes compared to the Italians, I can see them using physicality to their advantage. It's a physical game and you need to be able to take some knocks not fall down like you're made of fucking balsa wood. But Italy...  why resort to underhanded tactics? And against New Zealand. This shit has got to stop, if not for the benefits of minnow teams facing world champions then at least for the fact that shit like that ruins football and the Italians are notorious for it. They did it against Australia in 2006 and they did it against New Zealand in 2010 and they will keep doing it because they keep getting the results from it.

I'm not letting this get in the way of my enjoyment of the result because it's fantastic either way you look at it, in fact moreso given the circumstances of the draw. Considering that NZ got their goal which was technically just offside we're probably even lucky. I think that it's the best result we could have hoped for because it keeps up the All White's high and leaves them with something to proove against Paraguay.

But I am sick of seeing football players, and not just Italian football players, relying on taking dives to get results. It's pathetic and it's something that should really be addressed by FIFA. It's fucking infuriating no matter who's playing.
