And I wont let her.

After discovering a problem with the PSU that prevented my computer from even booting and replacing it accordingly, it now seems that my CPU refuses to run any games without overheating to the point of boiling. Starting World of Warcraft for example skyrockets the temp from its idle 65 degrees C to a disgusting 100 Degrees C and then promptly shuts down unless I kill the process.

When I put in my new PSU I cleaned everything up, cleared a bunch of dust, and the only thing I can think of being the problem would be no thermal paste on the CPU when I put the fan back on, but I can't imagine that having that big of an effect. I checked the bios and I know the fan is running, I just don't know why it is having these horrible fits.

The CPU is a Intel e6550

What might be problem... and yes it has big impact on temps.

No thermal paste?? No wonder it's overheating.

I had a similar issue last year with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000. It kept overheating when I was using anything with flash, or playing any games like BF2. It ended up being a defective core, so I RMA'd the CPU as it was under 3 years old.

Don't know if it's the computer tbh.

Just in case it isn't abundantly clear yet, put some thermal paste on your proc if you don't want it to explode.
