And during this whole period, Russia stayed in their frozen hovels, perpetually soaked in a Vodka induced haze, burning copies of War and Peace to keep warm.Lai wrote:
Wait,.. America IS Euro right, as practically everyone who wasn't is, well,.. dead. We sent over all our trash as well as some Frenchies to make love to Pocahontas and shoot beavers so we could make tophats back in the metropole. Then all our trash, being far away from the establishments that "contained" them, started breeding like rabbits and founded the US. The trash killed most of the Frenchies, but tophats went out of fashion anyway, so the few remaining Frenchies stayed with Pocawhoretas and founded Canada. The trash now lapsed into an identity crisis since they didn't have a history and the history of the land they now lived it was thoroughly destroyed. So long after the Euro's left neoclassicism for the pretentious kitsch it was, next to the real deal scattered all over the continent, the trash for centuries kept using cheaper and cheaper materials to make even cheaper copies of failed Euro reproductions, which they subsequently called "American culture".
The British having so much trash by interbreeding on their bloody island for so long now had a problem. Britain was now the Naples of its day as all then maffia controlled dumpsites were closed and "independent". They could only be used for money laundering not for actually dumping trash anymore. Luckily for the British, there was Australia.

Britains problem was letting so many other non-British European ethnic groups settle into America at a time when all of Europe was fighting each other (so they already had issues), it was easy for the new Americans and their descendents to build up anti-British sentiment because so many Americans weren't even descendent or had links to Britain anyway. Unlike say, Australia/New Zealand where things were much more rosy.
It'd be interesting to see what the demographics of the US was like just before independence to see whether I'm just chatting shit or not
I guess the very country itself serves as a visible warning against unrestricted immigration...
very not true. just prior to the revolution, americans in the colonies were for the most part decendants of english settlers and considered themselves englishmen. the fact that the crown didnt consider colonials as englishmen but still subjects was one of the major causes of friction.Mekstizzle wrote:
