And I put 2 CPUs in it.FFLink wrote:
Finray's build is surprisingly alright, except for the fact that there's no DVD drive, no aftermarket cooler and he's also gone over budget
Okay, looking at that benchmark:
-> SATA6 HDD/1TB
-> SATA6 Mobo
-> i5 750
-> Cooler for OCing
-> 6GB DDR3 RAM
ed: fail no onboard graphics, 2 tics
ed: slightly over budget but 6gb RAM on that machine is worth it

GPU?
Over budget again but way better than last time and wayyyy better than Bevos.
Stock cooler is fine for ~3.2Ghz OC.
E: If you really wanted to have a cooler and under budget swap the 6GB for 4GB.

I got 500w PSU, P55 mobo, i5 750, 4 GB RAM (DDR3, 1333), GTS250, and a Cooler Master case for $880.CammRobb wrote:

Sata 6GB/s makes no difference when you don't give it a Sata 6GB/s drive with it, and it's going to be a long time until Sata 6GB/s is cost-effective. As I said, stock cooler is fine for a moderate overclock, and if he's getting someone else to suggest the parts for it then I doubt he's that confident as to overclocking.Bevo wrote:

Regarding DVD drive, wasn't in the parts list.

It's not a fucking competition. ig already said he's got enough to work with.
Didn't notice that
You don't really need speed for a video editing machine, hence why I only put a 5,400 RPM drive in. Pointless to have imo.

Video editing involves accessing multiple media files at the same time. 7200RPM vs 5400RPM would definitely make a difference.Finray wrote:

agree, a 5400 rpm drive would make a noticeable bottleneckebug9 wrote:

i5s take dual channel memory
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
It is hilarious, though, you should get better.Finray wrote:

Tbh I'd rather have double the space than a faster drive.jsnipy wrote:
