Right so I gamble at both places, Wall Street and my local horse racing casino best buffet ever place Canterbury Park (http://www.canterburypark.com/)

The reason for this post is simple....if I gave you 1000 dollars of whatever currency, which would you gamble on?  horses or stock market and why? (and thats the only two choices if you want to say null vote or a third choice piss off to EE chats).

I ask because I recently sat down and looked at both gambling investments and found over the past 8 years or so I have made almost twice as much with the horses versus the crooks...erm stock market.  Ya the stock market may have tanked but even when it was good....really good, they were about even anyway.

If I were older, a little more responsible and wanted a long term, secure investment with a small yield to pass on to my Grandkids then stock market.

However, I'm not old and I'm all about the instant dollar, so Horse racing. I do the Grand national every year, last time I put my horse to win on like 16-1 and it came second. Meh.

you can research all you want, you cant know what is going on inside the company or in the high level CEO meetings.

That's why I would invest in small companies. Ideally where I could actually meet the CEO.

This idea that handing your money over to someone who uses trends, market predictions, and diversification to shave off profit from companies they know nothing about and calling that investing is fucking bullshit. It's abusing the idea of the stock market and is no better than gambling.

Investing is not risk-free. My point is there is a huge difference between actual investing where you understand the system you are putting your money into, how they in turn are going to invest the money, and exactly what the risk/reward situation is. The difference is an informed decision not a risk-free decision.
