Okay. First off here are my specs
Radeon 9800 pro
Pentium 4 2.8GHz
640 RDRAM (!)
So, let me start off by saying this. Today, I wanted to get my friend into BF2. He just got a new comp, so now he could finally try out the demo. Of course (As any sane man He loved BF2, and wants to get it. I also wanted to relive glory days and hear the old sounds of the APC..bunny hopping...dolphin diving...summer days spent playing BF2 demo. But that's not what this is about.
My rig isn't amazing. It can run most games (The newest ones...meh)
BF2 runs oaky
I have everything on medium. A decent resolution. High sound quality.
When I go into a BF2 server, the enterance is horrible. It is a SLOOOW load. It takes a long time to verify client (And I'm starting to see errors...) When I get into the game, I lag. I spawn, I LAG alot. But when the initial map is loaded, everything is dandy, Everything runs great yay. (Of course, if a server has 1 map per round, I can't stand it since I have to go through this every new map)
So, I get BF2 demo to be able to play with friend. It installs clean. I have to do some crap in the readme to get it to work...so here I am. I pick my friend's server...
Wow..that loaded pretty fast
Then I get in. NO lag. NONE at all. All medium settings (When I switched sound quality high it did lag a BIT getting in, but when I looked in all directions it was all gone) I could see beautiful shadows on everything. My weapons didn't become shitty and clip into eachother. Gameplay was beautiful and smooth. 1 round-map servers didn't bother me.
WHY? WHY does the full game have HIGHER requirments than the god damn demo? Can someone explain? Is EA shitmonkeys? I'm confused here. WHY do BF2 games lag like SHIT, and BF2 DEMO games run beutifully...
I just don't understand the need to increase requirments...

Guys, I'm not talking about system requirments on BF2. I know RDRAM sucks. I know I need better shit. I know all that.
The point is
WHY IS THE DAMN DEMO having LESS system requirments than THE FULL GAME?
It's the same fucking game, so why the difference?
