Regarding the Tech Team

Hi there,

Based on nominations from the members and the current Tech Team; discussion by the moderators; and the results of the poll yesterday we have decided to shuffle the Tech Team up a bit.

1) New members: Freezer7Pro, alexb, and Finray
2) A few people have been removed from the Tech Team as they have been inactive for a long time
3) The Tech Team is now all* in the Tech Team usergroup

*Apart from the two mods who are part of the Tech Team.

Everything should be a bit more structured and up to date now.

Note: The Tech Team are a small selection of members that have proved themselves to be knowledgeable with regards to technology and helpful within the Tech section on this forum. We feel that they deserve some recognition for their dedication and work, in the form of a badge. Tech Team members do not have any extra privileges. It's just a badge. _{(feels like we've made a big deal over nothing, here)}

Also note that there may be a few people dotted around the forums that have a Tech Team badge that we haven't noticed. If you do stumble across anyone with a badge that isn't in the list above, please let a moderator know. We can either then add them to the Tech Team usergroup (makes things easier to manage) or remove their badge (depending on the circumstances).

You don't have to know everything there is to know about everything; you don't have to be perfect; and you certainly don't always have to be 100% correct to be in the Tech Team. If you put effort in: You get rewarded. It's not a role that carries any responsibilities and therefore complaining about who has been given a badge and who hasn't seems a little trivial.

Finray was nominated by plenty of people. He posts lots in Tech and tries. Fair enough that he has a badge, in my opinion.

Another thing: This isn't finalised, but I think it's a good step in the right direction. If people are there that make you think "wtf are they doing there?" then it's probably because they were there before, but you never noticed. If people prove to be inactive, or not as knowledgeable and constructive as we hoped, then we can change things around again.

well, if i had only known :p . . . my only problem with Finray is his intractability. i like ATI (i have a 5850) and i like Nvidia (all of our workstations have Quadro's). when a fanboy is looked to for answers, you get fanboy answers.
