CF-18 Hornet just crashed a few days ago.
Canadian taxpayers: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Good thing we're looking into ordering some f-35's. Thank goodness for Martin Baker ejection seats. That was one hell of an explosion. Look at the plane, it seems alright, then it banks and smashes into the ground. Ironic how "Stayin alive" was playing on the speakers.

It seemed to shudder and then go slightly up and down a bit, then it just banked and smashed. Thats a bad viewpoint, but it was pretty scary. Thank god pilots have split second reaction times.

That's a stall.

And he had a few seconds from realising it was a gonner to pull the handle from what I saw.
Do fighter jets not have stick shakers or anything?

Weird though, why was he going so slow to begin with? You'd have to be trying pretty hard to stall a fighter jet surely, the things have got so much power.

no offense menzo, but are you a fighter pilot or schooled as an aeronautical engineer? how can you possibly say that this was pilot error? what if is engine died or he hit a funny pocket of air? a hundred things could have caused him to lose control, and until it's officially declared pilot error, i'll hold my judgement.

The pilot was performing a deep stall, when he loses the right engine, followed by him trying to regain control by hammering the left engine. (Listen for it) But, the lost engine at a critical point banks the plane sharply and he has to eject.

I was at the air show at Naval base Point Magu yesterday. An F18 did exactly that move.

When I spoke with one of my friends (He's a Thunderbird) he told us during a practice or something an F18 did the same move and crashed. I guess he was talking about this.

And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.

Yeah he's awesome. Being in the Thunderbirds must be awesome. They tour all the world. He says the USAF is awesome, they even have hot tubs in their houses
