Yes.
I do have a RIS mount for the flashlight but the flashlight is too big, i ordered another one that fits on the colt perfectly.
I mainly use that flashlight for "self-defense" purposes, its got a strobe function as well. I was blinded for almost 10 minutes by mistake.

My friend came back from Iraq with some kind of incredibly bright flashlight...and he got me in the eyes with it and I had a huge purple spot there for a few minutes...it's absurd brightness is what's disabling.

Ya but in a survival situation you aren't going to turn a bright light on your pistol on and shine it at the enemies eyes.

Most people struggle aiming at centremass.

Yea, I know.  I wouldn't depend on a light to blind my enemies either...I was just saying that they are very very bright!

Why not? You're upstairs, hear a noise, grab your gun with flashlight and creep downstairs, as your enter the room whack the flashlight on and then you've got a second or so to determine if he's armed before you start throwing bullets at him.

I thought weapon-lights were used as targeting aids as well? Saw a doc about Operation Nimrod where the SAS had taclights fitted to their MP5's, and wherever they pointed those the bullets would go, supposed they'd have to be zeroed like.

I'm more interested in blinding hostile bums encountered while urban exploring.

There are combination Laser/Flashlight combos.

Streamlight M6 as one example.

Can turn on the laser, the flashlight, or both.

Edit: and some plain flashlight attachments, yes, you can gauge where the bullets would go by the shadowning in the light.  Or, throw a 1/4" dot of electrical tape on the center of the flashlight. Or, get a cheap children's novelty laser-light pen with the smiley face light projecting from it.

I'm not gonna use the pistol, i just use the flashlight with the strobe to blind and disorient the guy; if i have to, hit him with the baton.

Even just aiming and the gun is something most people won't be able to do. With all the adrenaline and fear and the what ifs running through your head your more than likely to cower, fuck up or lock yourself in the bathoom and ring the police.

The above are usually the exact same people that have 20 guns by their bed and will declare how they'll blow the head off someone with no remorse.

Thats why i don't keep my flashlight attached to the pistol.
Its next to my bed, i hear a noise or something i will turn it on and maybe i will run to the bathroom and lock my self there or i will go and look what is going on.
But i still keep it next to my bed just in case.

The point of having a flashlight is not to blind/disorient/give away your position/stun the bad guys. None of that tacticool stuff. The purpose of a flashlight is so you can see shit in the dark. Ask a cop or anybody who's actually been in a situation where they had to draw their weapon and not be able to see a damn thing. The feeling sucks.

I don't deny that. But if they're as bright as whoever it was said, it'd be a pretty handy addition to disorientate an intruder, assuming he hasn't turned any lights on.

A heavy flashlight is the best home defense weapon here. Its the easiest thing to get away with at court, people can get away with manslaughter.

This, just point in the general area and pull the trigger. Of course, you also have to replace whatever the shot hit that wasn't the intruder.

A shotgun pattern will only be a few inches across at room distances.  You still need to aim.

Doesn't really apply at close range, eg in a building, you still have to aim.
