Just ordered a new graphics card tonight. Gonna try to get the most out of my AGP system while I can, so I got a Nvidia 6800GS card to replace my dated FX5900. This should hold me off for another year until I do a complete overhaul. I wanted to build a new comp, but I wont be working this summer due to summer college courses so that's a no-go. This way I can give my current graphics card to my gf, so she can play on low settings atleast, and I can play on med/high .

Figure 180$ for a performance boost to an already stable system isn't a bad deal considering I don't have the money right now to drop 1 grand on a new system.

Can't wait to get it... Might pickup a copy of SF too while I'm in the buying mood. Tired of dieing everytime I want to go pickup a cool kit that I cant unlock just to use the weapon for a brief moment.

It's not just your card, I use an FX 5200 sometimes, and the game rarely lags on 16 player maps.
You do have to have minimum resolution and everything low unfortunately to use it.

Man........I was starting to feel like my system was getting outdated because I have two 7800gt SLi cards (eVGA, copper heatsinks, factory overclock)......and now Nvidia came out with the 7900 series.  I think I need to take a deep breath and realize my computer is still pretty ahead of the game......otherwise I'll spend another $670 I don't have upgrading to something I don't need.  I have a problem.

But anyway....you should like the 6800.  I have no experience with the gs, but I had a gt, and it was a great card.

Lord knows I'd be right there with ya, but about 3 years ago I took a step into another direction(different hobby) and haven't looked back. Most of my money goes there. I just dropped over 1800$ on a long range precision rifle setup. Coulda bought the most kickass system available practically with that, but I enjoy putting 10 .308 rounds under the diameter of a US quarter at 100 meters. I just bought it, so I haven't had the time to take it to the distance, but I'll be taking it out to 600 meters eventually as time allows.

I balance my gun hobby with my girlfriend with my computer, and I've come to realize that "good enough" gets me by just fine. Spending 1800$ on a new computer system that will be worth 900 the following year to get a few months of quality graphics, or spend 1800$ on a nice rifle that will last me the rest of my life, (aside from a few barrel changes to maintain precision) and if I sold it, i could easily make back 1400$ at any given moment from then on out.

But yea, I think I'll like it Saw a review of it on overclockers.com and figured it was the best bang for my buck at this point in time without upgrading to PCI-E x16
