I have only USB1 working on my system. For the life of me I cannot get USB2 to work.
I have 2 USB Route HUBS. one USB 1 AND 1 USB 2.
The USB 1 is the back connectors on the MOBO and the front panel on the computer which is connected to the MOBO via cable. There is another USB connector on the MOBO.
When I connect the front panel to it, it still shows all the connected devices connected to the USB1 hub. Its as if the USB on the back of the mobo and the two connectors on the mobo, all three are USB1 and there is some kinda phantom USB2 which shows in device manager but I cant connect anything too.
The USB2 hub is there in device manager, but it seams no matter how or in what combination I connect up, nothing shows up in USB2 route hub. I have updated my chip set drivers from both the MSI and Nvida's websites. Windows 7 is up to date. Nothing of use that I can find to help on the interwebs.help!

Intel Core 2 Quad Q66OO Kentsfield 775LGA
msi-7380 n nvida nForce 750I sli spp
4gb DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5870
Windows 7 Ultimate 64.

uninstall them from the device manger and reboot.  windows should reinstall them, then try.

I dont really follow your post though, not very concise or explained very well.

From what I gather you seem to have a USB 2.0 interface and a USB 1.0 interface??  I would assume taht the 2.0 would be the root usb bus on the motherboard and be the first series of ports on the I/O plate.

I have deleted them and rebooted and its still the same.
I'll try and explain.
I have 2 USB hubs in device manager.
1 is USB 1
1 is USB 2

I have 2 USB connectors on my MOBO

I have the usual back panel on my mobo which is USB 1. (When I connect a device onto the back off my PC it shows up in the USB 1 hub.)
I have 1 USB front panel connected to the USB connector on the mobo which leaves one free. (When I connect a device onto the front panel off my PC it shows up in the same USB 1 hub as the devices connected to the USB on the back of the PC[mobo]).)

When I take the cable from the USB front pannel on my PC and connected it to the 2nd and only remaining USB connector on my MOBO all the devices still say they are connected to the USB1 hub.

Its as if the USB1 hub only exists in device manager and doesn't physically exist. It should, the MOBO was a good one when I bought it a year or so ago and should deff have USB2

Hope that's abit better explained.

maybe you have two hubs but they operate off the same bus?

I have two hubs. a USB 1 and a USB 2. You might be right, but then where is the USB2? Doesnt matter how I wire the front pannel to the mobo everything still connects to USB1. Its as iff USB2.0 only exists in the device manager and does not physically exist on the actual mobo! Geer.

I'm probably wrong but I thought if you connected a usb 1.0 hub then all connections defaulted back to usb 1.0

do you mean two different USB bus TYPES like 1.0 and 2.0?? or just TWO hubs TOTAL?  It would be odd for a board to support two different usb platforms.

I'll test it by pluging something into every USB port available. 4 on the back, 2 on the front. The driver dates for both controllers is 21/06/2006??? Was WIN7 even out then?

" Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" has nothing connected to it, no devices show up.
"Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller" Has all my devices on it.

I have tried to update the drivers but it says they are uptodate. I have searched the internet for a driver you can download and install but cant find any.
