Wow, you can't honestly be comparing OSX to Windows and saying that, right? Even my most hardcore windows friends admit that OSX is a better (faster, easier, less virus prone, smoother, etc) OS than windows -- the world just runs on windows, so they stick to it.
Maybe you run linux or something, but trying to say "windows xp > mac osx" is pure insanity. Saying "run windows so you can share in the misery with 90% of the world" would be right.
For me, I prefer Windows to MacOS. I'm a Unix admin by trade so you'd figure I'd like this whole new Mac thing, right? If I want to run a Unix workstation, I'll install a copy of Linux.
I just can't stand the gui. I was building Mac's back in the 7.x and 8.x days along with PC and Unix work. Never cared for it. With OSX, it's still much the same as before but with the jelly bean look to it and a dock, that I also don't care for, thrown in. To top things off, the stupid top bar is still there and, last I played with OSX, still could not be put on auto-hide. You still have to buy a 3rd party mouse to get more than the one button and I don't even find the mouse all that comfortable. Then there's the Mach microkernel which has well-documented performance issues.
Last, I don't like Apple. I can't stand Microsoft but I dislike Apple even more because of their pompous attitude that tends to make its way to their fanbase. I don't trust either company but Microsoft tries less to cover up that they're douche's than Apple. Let's face it, that joke thing about the " Apple iThing" with some info like, "what is it? Does it matter? You'll buy just about any piece of pretty, shiny, plastic we put out" has a fair bit of truth to it.
In the end, I get more functionality and ease of use out of my PC. Yup, I've gotta throw a virus scanner on there as well as anti-spyware. That's part of the price you pay for being the most popular platform. I also get a wider array of software and an even larger selection of games to play.
As for emulating BF2 on a non-Intel based Mac. I question that a bit. First, I'd want to know how the emulator handles multiple cpu's. Does Windows see the multiple cpu's? If so, you may well need to set processor affinity for BF2 as there's been known issues with the game on multi-cpu systems. That would mean that you're only using one proc on a dual proc machine and having to emulate. That would hurt a bit. Microsoft doesn't suggest using Virtual PC for running PC games, either ;)
