Wow, haters gonna hate in this thread. I guess you people don't understand why music is created in the first place. All you can do is insult everything about music when you fail to understand what is music. For the record, i think this music is kind of cool but I'm not in fucking love with it.

If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.
and why is this music created in the first place? "for the love"? "artistic progression"? "for the industry"?UnkleRukus wrote:

It's different for each artist, some people love it, some people do it to experiment, and all do it for the money. Music is to be loved and shared by people, if you don't love then at least respect it because they're trying, some (IE those mainstream bands, they don't really have a great sound.) of them also smarter than you in a way, because they now how to work the system and make money.Uzique wrote:

yeah... except none of these guys are "working a system" because there IS NO profitable 'system' here. do you know how underground the dubstep scene is? do you know how badly these examples of shittiness stand-out? there have probably been about less than 5 commercially 'successful' or 'breakthrough' dubstep EP/LP releases, ever. as for singles... maybe big on youtube, but no billboard/chart success. 'system'? one has to exist for someone to take advantage of it. if you were talking about, say, eminem commercialising and watering down his content to sell to more angsty teens-- then yes, yes indeed. a talented man adapting his style for a bigger audience. this dubstyle shit, though? it's just artistic plagiarism; crappy hardstyle artists doing a very BAD job of copying influences from dubstep so they'll seem 'cool' and 'with' the latest (non-profitable, non-commercial) electronic trend.UnkleRukus wrote:

So what, does it ruin you're life?
no, where did i say it does? it's a thread, a topic, a discussion... centred on dubstyle... therefore i am discussing it.
you guys really are losing a sense of perspective, here. i don't lose any sleep at night because some people choose to listen to shit.

Don't call 50k people at such events 'shit' but it's what you're accustomed to. But we get it after numerous times. You don't like it, oke, that's you're opinion of it. Don't try to get you're opinion above others as it doesn't state as a better opinion above everybody else's.
It's important to come up with new types of music and have other tastes of things. If we all like the same thing, the whole world would be buldozering the same girl.
What I'm trying to say is. You can have you're own opinion on thing but but keep them to yourselves and don't push them on others and leave them in their value.

lol

yes, i 'get' the "everyone is entitled to an opinion" part. that's a sad, tragic thing. everyone can and, indeed, does have an opinion.
please do not justify the existence of dubstyle as 'coming up with new types of music' - this is not artistic progression. you're over-dressing a turd to make it look like something more noble and creative than it is. it's bored 20 year olds sat with fruityloops in their bed-room copying the current 'popular' style to make their own tracks. it's not 'artistic progression', nor is it contributing to some grand goal of musical and artistic plurality and diversity. it's just music to dance to at a rave, that's all. that is what i meant when i said 'please stay out of valid electronic discourse'-- because there are artists out there, working very very hard, to progress certain aesthetic idealisms and experiment in genre. people making 3 minute tracks of oscillator-overkill aimed at fields of pilled-up stompers is VERY VERY bloody different.

You still havn´t posted a single something of what you deem to be this valuable Dubstep. I would like to hear something, cause this whole discussion got me interested.Uzique wrote:

but, if you're looking for a less-authentic experience... then yes, i do post examples of cutting-edge, underground dubstep in 'music'.
there's some classics that represent the proper 'dubstep' sound, in the LDN/Bristol incarnations.

Well, that ones I liked. Thanks for posting. I recently joined last.fm, maybe I can get some of the good stuff there. I´ll keep my ears peeled.Uzique wrote:
