So I downloaded Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec, and also ripped Gran Turismo 4, downloaded PCSX2, and now I'm stuck.

I really really want to get this working, I fucking love both these games, and it's gutting me that I can't get it going.

Anyone got any expertise in this area? Please help!

errm maybe not so much help but ebay the games for your console itself? extra nostalgia and it'll cost all of about 50p per game

Yeah I'm thinking of buying a PS2 for like 15 quid or something so I can play all the old games, damn Sony taking out backwards compatibility of the PS3's

Yeah I'm going to do that eventually but I wanna try and get it working on my pc as well.

I have GT4 for PS2 and a PS2 sitting with my tv, but the disc doesn't work cause it's the wrong type

PS2 consoles and games are so cheap nowadays. So many games out there, just buy one. I still have my PS2 and games. Still play them. Love them. Always and forever.

So far (last I looked a few months ago) noone had gotten a playable emulator of a PS2 working. At best they could get some video of a handful of games working on an emulator. The ROMS are out there, not the emulators.

You can emulate the ROMS to run on a (most likely modded) PS2 though...

PS2 emulation is entirely possible. it just takes plenty of configuration.

You're probably using a different version so you're going to have to figure some of this out on your own.

advanced: Round mode has to be chop/zero, clamp mode none, flush to zero on, denormals are zero on.
cpu: set to frame skip, fps limit 60, skip frames when slower than 55, 0 consecutive frames before skipping, skip 2 consecutive frames. multithreaded enabled.
speed hacks: 2x cycle rate, INTC, IOP x2, waitcycles sync hack, escape hack.
graphics: DX10 hardware rendering, no interlacing, whatever else you want

you need a PS2 bios.

I've played Silent Hill 2 and the Persona series like this, better looking/running than on a PS2 too.

Yeah there are definitely working PS2 emulators out there. But as Lucien said they take quite a bit of configuration and from when i set it up it varied between games and everyone seemed to need different settings to get it to work.

That said i did play through FF12 on the emulator and tried a few other games.
