It says 1080p, which means 1920x1080. If you're doing more computing than watching movies or using a console on it, you'll want that extra vertical space. For a 22", I'd recommend a Samsung 2233SW. It's 1680x1050, so for one it'll be easier on your GPU (what do you have btw?) and the quality of colours and sharpness of the picture etc will be much better than the LG one. I have the 2233RZ, the only difference being mine does 120Hz mode.

But if you do watch lots of movies and use a console on it, then you might as well go for that LG one, looks good.

Asus has a cheapish 25.5 incher with HDMI, VGA, DVI and component input. Served me pretty well. Check newegg (too lazy to link).

LED-backlit screens are seeping into the computing market, but they're still a bit pricey.

I dont know what component is.

the colours dont seem to be very... vibrant? im not sure thats the word, but some things seem to be a bit dull

And I realised the cd is the user manual, not a driver...

HDMI hasn't been around that long, has it?

Yeh, isnt red/white/yellow component and red/green/blue something else? My projector has both. Who knows.

They're two different things.

Red/White/Yellow: Red/White = Audio, Yellow = composite video

Green/Blue/Red: The video signal split into three parts

The second one is what we call "component" as the video signal is split into components
