I'm only tired of bad 3d. Post production conversion looks like shit unless they spend a lot of time and money.

They make the movie feel like a kids show at an amusement park. I agree with what you said about 3D movies using effects to make up for a boring or unoriginal story. I don't know if it's a fad but as long as "regular" movies keep being produced I won't care too much.Macbeth wrote:
Am I the only person who doesn't care for this 3D movie fad?
3D is terribly overrated. I went to see Toy Story 3 (fuck yeah) in 3D, it looked like a normal movie. The only time when I actually noticed the 3D was the Sony advertisement for its 3D TVs.
So it wasn't an annoying gimmick if you didn't notice it?henno13 wrote:

Which is it haters, an annoying ever present gimmick or an unnoticable waste of money?
My theory is there's a catagory of people that are anti-populist just for the sake of it. If something is getting wide spread, unified good reviews you'll always get some people that will hate that and go against it. For the sake of it. I'll use Avatar as an example. The film itself and the story weren't amazing, sure. The effects, the first time 3d had been used properly and the whole experiance were by no means anything under 5/10 by anyones standards. The above catagory of people are the same ones that are "Avatar is shit, 2/10". It isn't, they're just doing it to be differant. Now by all means go against the mainstream if you actually have reasons to and aren't just doing it to be spiteful or unique.
Floppy got it right. Thank God I can see ok far-sighted. When I saw Avatar in 3D they had the heavy plastic 3D glasses and wearing those over mind would have murdered my ears and nose. So I missed out on the subtitles but that's it.FloppY_ wrote:
Jord that's the problem, people who don't use glasses on a day-to-day basis can wear 3D goggles just fine.. but when we put them over our normal glasses chances are they don't fit / annoy the fuck out of us...jord wrote:
If you struggle to sit down, watch a film and wear some glasses for a few hours then you're going to have a tough time in the military.-Sh1fty- wrote:
This
Almost every movie I see has the annoying "IN 3D" information at the end. I like normal movies, I don't want depth in a movie, I feel like I'm watching it from a window, I like screens.
I also don't want to pay extra to wear uncomfortable glasses. Especially since I already wear glasses, it's a pain to put the others on top.
I don't mind the glasses, and no I don't normally wear glasses.
lol @ jord thinking ima fail the military cause I can't wear 3d glasses.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
I didn't say you'd fail USMC training on the grounds that you can't wear 3d glasses...-Sh1fty- wrote:
