Well, I'm getting a new phone because I dropped my iPhone 3G into a lake.  I really liked my iPhone, but I'm also considering a phone running Android OS, the Samesung Captivate.  I would get the Droid 2, but I'm on AT&T.

So, if you know of any better phones running Android for AT&T, post them please.  Or, just post any phone you think would be better.  Thanks.

Had my iPhone 4 for two weeks now, absolutely love it. Fanastic new screen, far crisper than the 3GS. The ariel problem has been blown up by the media, yeah it can drop bars but I've never lost a call

My vote's for Android. I have the HTC Desire. Great phone, built really well and specs means no slow-downs of any kind. Loads of apps, most of them free, too.

Only Sprint has the Evo over here.  He has AT&T

I voted for the iPhone 4, you're already familiar with it, and as jay_courage said, it has a really nice screen, like one of the nicest screens I've ever seen on anything or on its own.  It's also extremely zippy, and the camera is great quality, just make sure this one doesn't go into a lake or it won't have any of those things anymore.
ive had both the iphone/droid
my droid doesnt have the feature where you can play music without having to slide the unlock button i miss that so much
i love streaming music on the droid.. it has a flash cam also..
the google maps navigation works well...
part of the new update i just got - you can now access your pc search history instantly!! if you are logged into google via pc...  then tap google search box on the phone and the history shows. yes! and woah creepy!

i miss having itunes sync'd to my phone but i think you can do that with some apps(havent looked hah). y? because i miss being able to rate songs on the mobile player and sync those ratings to weed out shit vs amazing apples

I have the iPhone 4. I do love it. It's quick, the camera's simply awesome and I'm using it for so many every day things.

However... I can't recommend it. My first one had the screen crack within the first 24 hours. If you drop it, you just might break it. And that shouldn't happen. Phones should be durable.

Wait till the next generation if you're going to get an iPhone. Or get a 3GS for cheaper.

3GS is still $2-300 on ebay.

But yeah if I were already on AT&T I'd get an iPhone

Alright, thanks for the input everyone.

However, I'm going to go with the Samsung Captivate.  Don't get me wrong, I loved my iPhone 3G, but I just feel that the Captivate is a better phone.

The iPhone is better in:

Battery
Design
Camera

The Captivate is better in:

Speed
Browser
Screen
Texting

They tie in:

Call Quality
Signal Strength
Operating System (Although I'd pick Android over iOS)

So, I can't wait for my Samsung Captivate.

Personally I would've gone with the HTC Evo if you weren't getting the iPhone 4. But whatever makes you happy I guess.

I can definately get the Captivate, it's exclusive to AT&T.

Captivates super AMOLED screen is bigger and better then the iPhone's.  And the Captivate has the same problem as the iPhone where if you hold it wrong you drop bars.

Captivate is pretty much a Samsung Galaxy S, right? If so, grab that. I prefer HTC's Android phones but a friend of mine has the Galaxy S and loves hers.

Yeah, there's like 4 Galaxy S's, each one is exclusive for a different network.  This is like AT&T's first 'good' SmartPhone running Android.

Yea, that's what I thought it was, just another rebranded Galaxy S. Get it. It comes with Swype and that is damn near alone well worth it.
