I'd give it an 8/10. Was done in a really good style, took me ages to get used to the fact he was just good at fighting. ><PrivateVendetta wrote:
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World - 7/10
Took me a while to get into it and realise I was enjoying it, but it was well worth seeing. Would probably appeal to most of us on here.
it also just occurred to me that the framed plot device that gave the entire movie its excuses to have all those pretty CGI sequences and actions scenes was about as FUCKING CORNY as the Avatar back-story. energy companies and global monopolies on energy control? jesus christ why not just make the vault at the end have a rock of solid unobtanium in it and get the shitty excuse for a story-line over and done with. that was seriously so lame.Uzique wrote:

solid 8/10. concept was okay but i found it a little tedious at times... the plot just plodded along to unwrap itself from the stupidly over-wrought and intricate conceit that the film pivoted upon. i also found the first 30 minutes to be a surprisingly unwelcome tour of bad 'big' movie cliches... the way the back-story was retold through frame narrative; the turns of phrase and characterisation; certain action sequences and intended 'whoah' moments. it felt a little old... but i can't quite put my finger on why.
