Grrr, got it setup with my RCA to 3.5mm since my TRS haven't come in yet, and itunes is throwing a bitch fit. "It's not plugged into the headphone jack? THATS NOT A REAL OUTPUT, BRO"

Windows sound comes out fine, Firefox/Youtube works fine...

iTunes is showing up under the audio mixer for the e-mu, but it won't even play music. HALP

I know it works fine with the 0404 interface 'cause after some google searching other people haven't had any problem. I have no other issues with iTunes, plus I use it to transfer shit onto my phone, plus I buy music off of itunes

Thanks for the link/help, but no, that's not my issue. I checked it anyway and it matches both my USB card software and my quicktime settings. 24bit 96kHz.

It seems to be itunes specific. Mozilla works, windows sounds work... everything but itunes.

It comes up with the message,

iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly.

I've googled the string a bit but to no avail.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Figured it out. Turns out the frequency was unchecked somewhere in windows settings. Fail.
