So I was thinking what CPU would be good for a 5770 and 5830?
Relatively cheap aswell if possible.

If you're wanting a reasonable price then I'd say a i7 930
I see. 5770 or 5830 ain't all that. I'd say i3 would easily max it, i5 would be very good for upgradability.Pepsiholic wrote:
It doesn't matter, since it is going to be an entirely new setup.

i3 would easily max out a 5770, my Q9300 maxes it out.Pepsiholic wrote:
Well i5 would probably be nice^^
Is i3 dual core? Would that really do it?
Oh and 1 question, what about that AMD 6 core? approx the same price as i5 750, is it useless? Or do u need some brand new super mobo to support 6 core?

Where are people getting the consumes less power for the 760 (seen it a couple times on here)? It's the same chip with one extra multiplier, nothing more. Both are 45nm 95w chips.Hope_is_lost117 wrote:
If you're going for intel get the I5 760, newer, faster, better and same price as the 750, even consumes less power
(was suggested this cpu for my new build and I'm extremely satisfied
iirc voltage is slightly lower on the 760 compared to the 750 while still having that extra multiplier. It's only some 2-10W less anyway.jaymz9350 wrote:
