It's simple. I got it all planned out.
I'm going to make this movie, I haven't thought of the name yet (it'd be something in German). It's about this retarded guy in the Holocaust. So the movie takes place in Dacow in 1944 (ends in 1945). There are like four guys. There's a retard, a cynical Jewish guy, a priest and a 17 year old guard, the guard is Czech from the Sudetenland, not from Germany so that way he can talk in German and people will not hate him because he's not really a Nazi. Also yeah, the movie will be entirely in German so that I could at least win Best Foreign Language film if I somehow lose Best Picture.
So the plot is like the Cynical Jew, the priest and retard are in the same bunk bed and shit. And the priest is trying to help the CJG get through it, but the priest is kinda old so the Nazis gas him early in the movie. So Then retard has to try to help the CJG through it. And the guard is kinda like a side character, he doesn't directly interact with the other guys that much. But he hears them talking and shit, and he's all sad and ashamed and he contemplates becoming An Hero on several occasions, but pussies out because he's this 17 year old Czech faggot. And then at the end of the movie, retard gets injured in the labor camp, and the CJG knows that retard is gonna get gases soon. So he explains it to retard, and while retard does understand that he's gonna get gassed, he's retarded so he's okay with it. So somehow retard, right before getting sent to take a group show, gives the CJG guy hope. And then a few weeks later CJG is about to get gassed, but he remembers what retard taught him about hope. And he's in the gas chamber with other guys, but nothing happens. And so then after a few minutes of him getting really scared and shit, he finally accepts that he's going to die and that he shouldn't be an asshole just because he's going to die. But then the door opens and some Americans come in and save him.
And I'm going to have it be released on December 15th so that it's really late in the season so that it's fresh in the minds of the Academy. Also it needs to be in Dacow, even though that was mostly for political prisoners, as Auschwitz is overused, and if it was in Auschwitz you'd have everyone talking in Polish not German, and most importantly you'd have to have them get liberated by the commies and not the Americans, and getting "liberated" by the commies isn't exactly a happy ending.
