Been covered before dude.
Still it is neat though, you generaly fly so high as to not be spotted by AA or even jets because the pilots arn't bothered to fly so high. My Squad Leader did it once, but on capturable bases sowe as a squad could capture it while he stayed as a mobile spawn point above us. It was on such an occurance that I was killed by falling onto a flying UAV.

OMG that is fricking hilarious...

Yeah HALO capturing a flag is awesome.  I generally will take the helicopter as high as it will go and use the compass map to hover over the flag.

Pff...just...Pff.

I was baseraping with a heli before BF2 was out. (no rly).

Sea Knight over oil towers map on DC. only then, the entire team could spawn on the heli, not just my squad.

Oh yeah and AA didnt lock on. It was dumbfire.

And there were no AA sites. There was the AT kit, who had AT rocket, AA rocket, and a loving pistol. And a knife.

And I really hope this isnt another whiney thread about baseraping. I really hate people that whine about baserape.

Don't try this with me onboard... I end up with a -30 score . I have a slight problem see...

I'm fine with the spawning and the jumping out the side of the Cow/BH but the problems start then...

Over VoIP my squadmates hear "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooooooooo..."

Flecco has died. "Shit oops.... Stay up there SL..."

I enjoy the drop too much. I also occasionally forget I changed my parachute key to Y instead of 9 (such a stupidly small time spent in the aircraft of this game). This is where all my suicides come from...
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Works best in Songhua Stalemate because of the fog, you won't be attacking uncaps but the other team will still be all "wtf m8" when an entire squad drops out of the sky and rapes/caps the flag. (plus no planes/helos to shoot you down when you get a transport way up there)

Why not just run into their base and when the squad leader dies, swap the SL position....

Good way to break AA locks in that situation is to jump into a non-pilot seat. AA lock only holds with an active pilot.

Plus, you can spin in circles forever at a moderately high altitude and still have people spawn in the chopper.

I wouldn't say original...

But it's always nice to see others use this tactic. However, I have migrated from this to just doing the dynamic squad spawning with my squadmates. We'll all land on carrier, spread out, and destroy the base. We just spawn on whoever is alive. It's better for the spm and more people get to rape.

HALO = High altitude, low opening

Means you jump out of the aircraft very high, but open chute really low to evade radar or something.
