lol 10/10s
I´m a huge Indy fan, even with the second being the weakest of the (original) series, they always entertain me. Never get old. So do the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Sure, compared to the first, the other two are weaker, but I never get bored of watching them. Awesome entertainment.cl4u53w1t2 wrote:
pirates of the caribbean 1 and raiders of the lost ark were good popcorn movies. temple of doom and conan the destroyer were... well... not good
pirates of the caribbean 2+3 sucked
and we were soldiers was horrible. one of the worst war movies ever made
the original death race 2000 (from 1975; with a very young sly stallone in it) is one of the best and funniest trash-/b-/low budget-movies ever made
I just finished Death Race 2000. What a fucked up movie that was. Cheap, immoral and absolutely bad across the board. Even for a low budget movie. I mean, David Carradine beating up Sly Stallone? COME ON!!
It had a lot of nice nekkid women though.
Robin Hood (the one with Russell Crowe) 7.5/10
I mean its a typical hollywood movie but i do love the battles scenes. So great to see thousands of knights on horses charging agaisnt infantry.

The new one is worthwhile just to see the massive war machine.cl4u53w1t2 wrote:

Edge of Darkness - 7/10
Reasonably done, and remarkably plausible.
(10x better than the original too)

Fuck Israel
I saw the Remake a few month back. Stumbling across that was actually the reason I looked up the 1975 original. I liked the "story" better in the new one tbh.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Thought the same thing when watching clash of the titans.
Also just watched Prince of Persia. Wasn't bad, pretty shit in some parts though. Liked the parkour/free running parts. Gemma Arterton was the best thing about it.

Shifty, leave the movie-making to the Oscar-winning professionals, mmk?
"So many things I would've done differently". And so many things of that movie would've been ruined. Jurassic Park is one of the greatest movies of my childhood, I don't need you to try and make it better because it's already perfect.
OT: last movie I saw was Gattaca. Fucking love that movie so much. 9/10.

Brooklyn´s Finest - 8/10
Surprisingly good. I thought it would be something like 16 Blocks or Hollywood Cops, but it went straight into the Training Day branch. Very nice.

Some 'Reaper' episodes - 8/10
Repetitive and formulaic, but hypnotizing. All the characters are decent, but Ray Wise steals the show as the Devil. Which is what usually what happens in any show/movie with the Devil, of course. You end up smiling along with him even when it's kind of creepy.
Every time I find a semi-new TV series I like, it turns out that it was canceled in its second or third season.
Still gotta watch season 2, but if they don't slip in 'Sympathy for the Devil,' I'll be disappointed.

I've got my list of things to watch. Wire's on there, but nothing gets shunted up or down.
The Wire is kinda.. average. It's the type of thing I'd watch if nothing else was on TV, but I wouldn't put time aside to watch it specifically.
Synedoche, New York, however, that's a different ballgame. Go watch that nao.

finray what the fuck are you talking about? you do realise that the wire is considered one of, if not THE best tv drama of all time?
i'll go with the thousands of critics rather than some scottish twat that likes to hate anything that's popularly celebrated

Ever seen The Prophecy? It's a decent movie with a great "Christopher Walken performance" from Christopher Walken. But the show stopper is Viggo Mortensen with his brief appearance as Lucifer. One of the best ever.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

A close second is Peter Stormare's Satan in Constantine. A great performance in mediocre movie.
And, of course, Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate.

Seen all three Prophecies, and was about to mention Constantine when I saw you already brought it up. Jack Nicholson pulled off a good Satan in Witches of Eastwick. Devil's Advocate and Legend were good, of course. Passion of the Christ, amazingly, had a creepy devil. The Omen movies work in a pinch. Hellraiser didn't really have the devil, but were good (if gross) early in the series. She-Devil/Bedazzled are OK (former doesn't really count, but captures the essence of ugh). Storm of the Century had a decent devil-like figure, and don't forget about that really weird number in Fantasia. If Good Omens ever became a movie (the authors are hoping for it), I'd proudly throw it up on my shelf as well. Honorable mentions for South Park and the Simpsons Flanders-Satan. I don't really think Robot Hell counts (sorry Futurama).
Still, Reaper was a complete surprise and actually had one of the better devils I've seen in either movie, book or TV show.

That's kind of a loose guarantee. Still, if it's true, I usually give a show til episode three or four to catch my attention if the hook didn't manifest in the pilot.Uzique wrote:
