I got my wife a thinkpad for school awhile back, and it seems to hold up quite nicely. Also thats the first time I've seen that about lenovos, aside from people that didn't like the look of them.

What makes you say that? I'm saving up for a W701.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

lenovos are made on the mainland, he don't get a cut

lenovo, from what i've seen, are the best - my wife has one for corporate use, it's been bulletproof. we've had some nice dells at work, but for the money, lenovo.
