Haven't listened to Senior yet. Got my CD already, but holding out on the first listen until the vinyl arrives
Barking is... ugh. The album as a whole is a lot like most of the songs. Starts off wonderfully, picks up a little steam, then dies and sputters out. Rather than being ups and downs, builds and breaks, it's entirely descending. Songs seem to have great potential and then go nowhere. The album sounds like the same BPM for the first 80%, then goes to a slower tempo for the last few songs. It just withers and dies and goes nowhere. And they're known for their epic rave/dance tracks and their best songs are usually longer than 10 minutes, yet not a single track on Barking passes that mark.
If it weren't for Bird 1, I could easily say that it's their worst album by far. But since Bird 1 is on there, I reluctantly and disappointingly say it is their worst album.
