Floppy, I don't think those seats are designed to take a tree at such speeds. Had it hit the back of the seat I'm sure it still would have done some damage. It broke through two windows.

Windows break easily, the carbon fibre seats would/did probably cause the tree to just glance off then and therefore going between the driver and co-driver...-Sh1fty- wrote:

To me it seems it entered the rear-windshield directly behind the driver, hit the seat and went in between. From that angle it might have been able to kill the co-pilot who didn't have protection from the side.
