Its it top load or front load?

Look for the hatch to deposit detergent and softener into.

Don't mix colors with whites. Sheets and clothes are ok together, but leave them in the dryer longer. Don't forget fabric softener.

It's recommended that you wash your sheets (yes, especially you, you randy animal ) in 60 degrees. It kills better all them critters. I wash clothes and sheets separately cuz they tend to tangle up in a huge roll in the machine. And for the love of your clothes, do not mix whites and colours in the dryer. It has the same effect, and in some cases worse, as putting your red trophy knickers with your white Hugo Boss shirts in the washer.

Ultra's Basic clothes washing for dummies:

-Separate coloured and whites, be it sheets or not.
-Check the washer/dryer that there aren't any clothes left from the last user to fuck up your washing result
-Double check the colours you toss in the washer and dryer
-Clothes 30-40c
-Sheets n' towels 60c (check the labels for the temperature. some don't like 60c)
-If you do much sporting and/or have flexible things, like tracksuits, swimming pants or similar, do not use softener. It'll kill the stretchy out of them.
-When tumble drying sheets. Check in the dryer every 30min or so, that they're not in a huge pile. They won't get dry on the inside at all. Mess the sheets up and turn the dryer back on.
-If you wash at a public place with hot women among you, you go ask for assistance so they can check that you have done everything right, mkay? And if you get laid as a bonus, remember that 50% of it goes to me... wait wat?

Protip. If you have clothes that are otherways clean, but reek of cigs and you have to have the clothes on for tonights woman hunt do the following. Throw them into the dryer for a 10min with a piece of these dryer aroma paper sheets (or whatever they're called) you get from any store. Just look for some dryer stuff on the shelf. They don't cost much but they are a life saver somethimes since hanging the shirt outside just won't get rid of all the stench even in a night or two.

I read an article once that said you should almost always wash on cold. I had to set a custom cycle for my machine because the only preset that was cold only was also for low soil.. not a lot of later, slow spin, etc.

Cant find the article but I found this:
Sounds great. But will your clothes be just as clean? The general consensus is that unless you’re dealing with something like baby diapers or grease stains, cold water is more than up to the challenge posed by everyday laundry.
So for my energy bill and the longevity of my clothes it's cold .

Right so normally i get my stuff washed when I'm down in enniskillen, but i didn't go last weekend.

So ive got lots of washing i need to do

Q's;

Ive got two little powder tablets, do these go in the drum, or in a drawer somewhere?
Can i throw my colours in with white bedsheets and white towels?
Is drinking whiskey at 2:10pm wrong?
You can mix anything as long as its not pure white. Wash at 30degrees to avoid colours running, you will probably be ok. Use softener as well as detergent. The tablets usually go in the drum in a little bag and aren't as good as detergent.
Or get Dot Cotton to do it in the laundrette.

Your Irish, so having Whiskey on your cornflakes is acceptable. Just as long as its not standard Bushmills. Go for Blackbush or better.

Oh, almost forgot. I don't recommend to mix all red stuff with anything. The red fooked up my black shorts back in the day

Wröng The water boiler warming costs more to electrify than the heater in the washer. Besides the washer motor is anyway working like hell so why not use its power to heat up the water? The amount of hot water would empty the boiler way fast if one had a laundry day washing several machinefulls of stuff.

We have 360 litre hot water system which can heat 200 litres of fresh cold water every hour, The washing machine uses about 60 litres and takes about 40mins to complete a cycle. I could run 3 separate machines at the same time and still have enough hot water to have a shower and put the dish washer on. Also the motor in the washing machine can not create nearly enough energy to heat the amount of water needed quickly enough. Not to mention with our solar hot water... its free.

Hmm. We have cheaper night time electricity so the water boiler is cheaper to heat up during night. What all do you use the solar panel electricity for in your house? For everything or something separate?

Of course you can
