Every time I start my car in the morning it makes a loud grinding noise for a second or two after it turns over. Also when I start driving it occasionally makes the noise (though not nearly as loud) when I accelerate. However once the engine is warmed up (say if I have been driving for about a half hour or so) it doesn't make that noise when I start it. So it only makes the noise on a cold start. Anybody know why? 2008 Honda Accord btw.
Might be oil and fluid's
It is due for an oil cha,nge and I'm actually taking it in this afternoon, I'll report back once it gets changed, thanks
its still a pretty new car

Sound somewhat like the serpentine belt mate...cant say for sure but i'd have a look at it first...oils change is also not a bad idea, not so sure it will fix this, but cant do any harm!
Is it grinding or rattling?
Hydraulic valve lifters short of oil will do that.
Real grinding and your engine would be dead in no time, maybe its an accessory like an alternator?

Fuck Israel
Oil change should fix it, that or it's shedding teeth on yr gears lol
Sounds like it could be an issue with the waffle spacer.
Or perhaps the clungebracket.
check the kranzaminator levels as well, always good practice.
I'd suggest a cracked fromitz board, but that wouldn't be a grinding noise.

Yes, that would produce a more whining sound, with minor pops and cracks in between.
Perhaps a short in the jufnull intake?

nah, more like the carterbulation mechanism
Yeah, more likely, though sometimes the doppram can come loose, causing contact with the huklevelator which could be the real problem. In this case ask the mechanic to put in a new jiffler, should sort it right out.
Take a look at the seventh Fetzer valve. It's been sticking. Probably the humidity.

Check the muffler bearings and the turn signal fluid. If that doesn't work add a can of rotate.
it's the flux capacitor.
Or, y'know. Oil change?
How'd it go?

From cougar via skype:
"Had the same problem once. It was the flywheel. When you turn the engine over in the starter turns the flywheel to start the engine or some shit. If the starter and flywheel are properly aligned it makes a loud grinding noise before starting. Eventually you can break all the teeth off the flywheel and you will just here a spinning sound. Tell dumbfuck to go get his starter and flywheel looked at to see if they are alligned properly. Only happened to me when my engine was cold. Tell everyone else they suck at trolling."
