many people think he's the best, though, and there's obviously a clear correlation between an underground-art form (graffiti) and its 'popularity' and the public estimation of its top-figure (banksy). he doesn't even represent the graffiti community properly. he was seen as an annoyance in his early days in bristol and also has made some pretty disrespectful defacements of other classic graffiti artist's work in london-- see his work on camden lock, which has since been reclaimed by the real old schoolers.
