Thoughts? I was gonna just buy an X4 processor for my aging Asustek Crosshair mobo, but there's nothing decent anymore, so I thought lets get a new system.

I've got an HDD, 4670, and a Chieftech Dragon case, so I want something new for the inside. What do you think of that bundle? There's a few good ones out there, notably an i3 bundle clocked to 4.2ghz with a warranty.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

its like 15€ cheaper than it was. I'm not a big fan of bundles, there's always something in the "bundles" that I don't like so I usually buy the stuff I want to buy separately even if it means higher cost, at least I won't be sorry later.

why, what's in that bundle that doesn't appeal to you?

I'm not saying specifically this bundle as it seems like a nice bundle but its possible you can find components with better synergy or OC capabilities separately. I dunno, maybe I'm just old fashioned as I have always bought components separately, here half of the work fun is already done with overclocking and it being prebuilt.

that's why it appeals to me

A) I'm lazy
B) I know I would fuck it up through overclocking somehow hah.

Right, I realised the other day that since I'm getting a nice new bundle, I should probably get a new PSU as well. The current PSU in my system is an Enermax 565W, whilst I think that'll be enough, it's 5 years old and I don't want it going BANG, and taking £450 worth of hardware with it.

So, new PSU, thoughts?

Yeah I was thinking Corsair, seem to be the best of the bunch. I'm leaning toward modular though, I want a lovely clean build.

Prices have gone up a fair bit since a few years ago. Should stick to vx/tx if you're budget conscious

not really budget conscious, just don't want to spend shitloads on it.

in that case, get this:

if you want modular, if not the other one should be fine.

Is that the cheapest modular corsair?

hmm, I guess I don't need modular if I'm paying a premium for it.
