The only crashes I have are basic CTD's with no bad side effects.
I still haven't crashed once. And crashes on the 360 suck because you actually have to restart the whole system.
So I'm at the Boomer's airfield and I've arranged for that girl that Jack wants to fire his cannon at to visit, and my task is to wait for her to arrive at the airport.
So I wait with Jack in his hangar. She's still down by Crimson Caravans though so I set my character to wait 24 hours. When I regain control, Jack is gone. Nowhere to be seen.
I tracked them both down here:

so basically this whole thread is telling me that i should buy New Vegas?
If you don't mind taking things slooooooowly for a while then yeah I'd recommend it.
This game's gone downhill really fast for me. I'm about to Spoiler (highlight to read):
get the platinum chip from ceaser to go down to the lucky 38 but I couldn't get any back up from any of the side bets because I never have high enough lock picking, science, barter, or basically any skill but weapons to get any fucking thing done around here so I'm completely unprepared and unable to finish the game because my skills aren't high enough and I have no way but grinding on killing random enemies outside of missions. Basically if you wanna get anything done in the game run away from all your enemies and use your giant fucking brain to get everything done. fuck /rant
EDIT: Oh and repairing things is WAY to damn expensive so you can forget about repairing you broken armor and just run around naked the rest of the game.

"Raise the flag high! Let the degenerates know who comes to claim their lives this day!"
You didn't level up any sort of 'skill' at all? I have decent combat stats as well as Hard lockpicking and nearly Hard sciencing (i can manage hard with a magazine). And I have plenty of levels to go.
I thought it was pretty common sense to keep them fairly high.

This is why there is a repair skill.....Blade4509 wrote:

Is this by any chance your first rpg?
Seriously. I NEVER repair stuff with a vendor. Always by myself.
Yeah you don't even need a high repair skill to fully repair things in this game. In Fallout 3 I often ended up with a repair skill of 90-100 because you needed it to be that high to fully fully repair things.
But in New Vegas you only need 30-40 or something. So there's no excuse really.
Edit: In fact now I think about it I don't remember being told I ever needed a higher repair skill than I had to repair something. Maybe it was because I put a lot of points into it at the beginning.

I'm such a packrat, so if I ever need to repair something I usually have something else in my inventory that I can do it with.
So how do you repair your armor?
"Raise the flag high! Let the degenerates know who comes to claim their lives this day!"
with duct tape duh
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
It seems that the condition of stuff doesn't degrade as rapidly in here as it does in FO3 either, and also as someone pointed out, you can fully repair items at levels much lower than you had to in the previous game. If I've got two service rifles (a fully repaired and desperately poor condition one) going into a firefight, I'll keep the crummy one because I imagine I'll need it to repair my better one afterwards, but oftentimes it's a negligible difference. Hell, I have so many fully repaired weapons and faction armor sets that a few are just chilling out in my wardrobe in Novac, because for some reason I hoard my armor and weapons and seem to just sell cigs to get caps.
With similar armor.Blade4509 wrote:

I can't find anyone with the recon armor that I bought so it's pretty much hopeless right? All of the armor I find from dead people sucks donkey nuts. And those turrets inside Lucky 38 rape even if I do have decent armor on.

Alright so I'm Lvl 15 and I got:
Barter 32

Sneak 32
Speech 55
Survival 32
Unarmed17
What did I do wrong here?

Is there a way to remap your skills maybe?
"Raise the flag high! Let the degenerates know who comes to claim their lives this day!"
Well it seems fine but you're only level 15, why are you at the end already? Oh well. Doing heaps of sidequests will let you get your necessary skills up in no time.
Why are you stuck again

Well I guess I couldn't find any side quests to do. ^_^ Maybe I'll go look around before continuing the storyline.
"Raise the flag high! Let the degenerates know who comes to claim their lives this day!"
Really? I've been so swamped in sidequests i've taken hours and hours out of doing the main storyline and constantly had 3-4 things on my to-do list the entire time.
