My school is about $52K a year. Luckily, most of it's covered by scholarships I received.

that's a ridiculously inflated price considering the relative merit and prestige of your uni

why do people even bother going there. small private liberal-arts colleges make english public schools look like free kindergartens

lol I pay like $8K a year for tuition, fuck yeah in-state tuition.

Sadly it's probably gonna go up. We've had a tuition freeze for like three years and it's starting to hurt the budget.

Make it $16K a year in-state if you also live on campus (dorm prices are the same regardless of residency)

so? top uk universities are in some of the most affluent, posh and wealthy areas of the UK

you can go to a range of universities (academically ranked) within the city of london

all cost like £3,300/year

that is definitely not an excuse

Because they want the small school experience. I honestly have no idea. I think they're all a gigantic waste of money.

Does the British government not subsidize a substantial portion of the cost? Or something like that?

Every SUNY (State University of New York) school costs $4,970 in tuition for the year. This doesn't include room, board or books. That's fucking cheap and there are some highly respected schools in the system.

It depends on one's definition of "good." They're all accredited, and they'll all grant you a bachelor's degree which already puts you ahead of 70% of the US. Stony Brook's the best one I know of, good research institution.

Binghamton and Stony Brook are top notch for hard sciences. New Paltz is a great school for future teachers. My school is tops in the nation for graduating future mariners. There's a lot of crap in the system but it's got something for everyone, whether you want to go to a tiny school in the middle of nowhere or NYC. As much as I dislike my state, I do have a healthy respect for the SUNY system.

NYU would be a waste of your time (unless you're talking about the business school). Columbia would be better. Bentley and BC are in Massachusetts. Not exactly the New York area
