Hi, my dad wants me to help build himself a new PC, I'd do it but it's been ages since I've done it I've completly forgot everything I need to look for in terms of whats good and whats compatible with what etc, so I figured it'd be easier just to ask here.

Mostly for gaming so as good as possible with around £300 please

I normally use http://www.ebuyer.com/ & http://www.overclockers.co.uk/

All help appreciated, thanks

Don't need hard drive or disk drive

£300 isn't a lot for a gaming pc.
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.

I'd say you're looking at atleast £450-500 for a good system.

That will get you a nice i5 setup, you can go lower, but the system won't have much life.

For 300 you get very light gaming PC, not going to run anything new well.

That's overkill Cammy, that's basically the barebones for the best gaming computer bar i7.
