Since I got barely any response to posting this in the SF help forum (which is extremely dead) here goes...

When I say this I know im not alone. Everytime I go into the pilot seat of any SF heli, it lags really bad, enough to not be able to fly. Normally, in game and in the gunner seat its quite smooth.

I have all settings on medium, and off except textures which is high.

try everything on Low you mighthave High specs but just try it on low see if it gives u same problems ?

Unclean is right, I can run everything on high in all iterations of the game except when I am in a SF Chopper.  Then I have to adjust everything to medium or else it is choppy as hell.  I would try putting everything at low if you want to pilot an SF Chopper than experiment with moving things up to Medium until you find the balance between performance and eye candy that you can work with.

...and then try your new config in a LAN server, which u open(without any players or bots; only u and the chopper...^^); only to try...

Yea im getting the same problem, but i think it's gone, what video card do you have ? Because i remeber what i did and maybe i can help you out. ( Had lag in chopper as pilot and gunner, on SF and vanilla, nitght and day maps, i could fly but there was some lag every 8-18 seconds )

Im running Sapphire Radeon x800 GTO AGP 256mb and i can run Ultrahigh settings and get 20-25 FPS smooth, but forget that FPS in arty hits and in the helo/jet...

EDIT: Atm running 1280x1025@75 hertz med med high med low med med off med 100% witch makes an average of medium...

By that way is 1280x1024 @ Medium better than 1024x768 at High ??????????

I think its quite silly when people post that they are getting lag when they have anything above the low settings! The most obviuos thing is to move some down!!

Im on all the low/off settings and I still get lots of lag so I should be able to complain!

I get lag in the SF helicopters way more then in normal BF2. My system is a "good" on a scale from shit to superb. Seems to be the coding to me, and nothing I did would make it less laggy.
