a lot more smog and guidos there
You're even closer to where he lives than I am. You're like seven miles away from Bayonne as the crow flies.

I was born in Manhattan and grew up 15 minutes away from it. It's funny when internet people try to tell me how awsm NYC is compared to everywhere else.

Manhattan is fun in small doses. I would never want to live there.

I would never live in the financial district, but the upper west or east side? Fuck yeah.

Of course, those houses (or whatever they're called) probably run for like 2-5 mil each.

NJ is actually rather pretty in some parts, like near Princeton.

@13/f yeah what burnzz said. Sounds OK at first until you realize it means a 1.5 hour commute.

I read an article in the NYT about 3 friends paying 3500 a month for a shoebox in the upper east side (or west). For that I could get multiple luxury apartments in Bayonne.

I know a Lawyer who lives in Ossining. Out of all the partners in his firm he is the oldest and the only one who doesn't take his car to work.

My dad had an apartment on both sides at one point or another when I was a teenager. Had an apartment down in Chelsea too. Apartments are overpriced for the amount of space you get, you have to worry about your neighbors, and it's even less of a social environment than the suburbs are. Why pay for a tiny apartment when you can have land? I don't get the allure at all.

It's the atmosphere. It's very alluring. To me, at least.

That being said though, I don't see myself ever living in Manhattan besides for college. But I'll be in Albany in 8 months anyways. Ghetto time.
