I know a Lawyer who lives in Ossining. Out of all the partners in his firm he is the oldest and the only one who doesn't take his car to work.
My dad had an apartment on both sides at one point or another when I was a teenager. Had an apartment down in Chelsea too. Apartments are overpriced for the amount of space you get, you have to worry about your neighbors, and it's even less of a social environment than the suburbs are.
