Both of those are basically New York based. Any other ideas?JohnG@lt wrote:

I know they're New York based. Seriously, check the baking aisle in any decently sized supermarket. It will be next to the flour, the nuts, the pre-mix cake boxes and the decorative stuff like icing and sprinkles. If you don't see marzipan, look for almond paste.PrivateVendetta wrote:

I'm asking for some names of decent supermarkets. I don't live here, I don't know what's around and what sort of stuff they sell.
I thought Fry's was a big, decent supermarket, but they didn't have loads of stuff.

Does Whole Foods exist 'round there?PrivateVendetta wrote:

Whole Foods should definitely have what you want. And they are very proud of their product.
But fuck the marzipan. Go for the cream cheese frosting. That is FTMFW every time.

Yeah! Bashas ftw.
Had the marzipan that galt had in the tube and apparently you can't get roll icing, so I'm going to make my own frosting instead.
Left out the sultanas and currents, just going to use extra raisins, seems like you guys don't have them.

Location says Arizona. Being British doesn't make finding currants easier.burnzz wrote:

what about Carlos Sultana?JohnG@lt wrote:

The trick of having a great holiday season is to do minimal seasonal planning. Instead of baking the cake just go to Wal-Mart (or other similar store) and pick one out. Next you take the cake out of the box and apply some of your own designs, then claim the cake is yours.

I'm pretty sure a Wal-mart wouldn't have any of that, and Fresh and easy isn't big enough probably.
